Hey guys..im having the same dusty casing problem...
and is looking for dust filter u guys mention...
but where the hell can we get the damn dust filters!!!

i've been searching in lowyat (quite thoroughly) for 2 times...
almost non existence there..!!
WHERE CAN WE BUY A DUST FILTER??

i saw a guy mentioning about "pantyhose" here..was thinking bout whether it can be work
and how exactly can we "mod" the pantyhose...

1 more thing regarding the intake and exhaust...
i have been trying out various settings...

i find it better if the top exhaust fan to be intake..
but u have to move is to the front slot...
the results measured are as follows...

Conditions: air-cond@22 degrees, Bad Company 2 for about 1 hour, screen shot was taken immediately after i close the game
the max temp seems to be lower, tested this about 3 times under the same setting and the max temp is consistently lower by about 2 degrees

*ignore the min temp*

i only has 2 intake and 1 exhaust..
the other 2 is CPU cooler for Hyper 212 plus

but damn i need the filter..!!

ohh..but the filter will sold by this guy will also reduce the air flow, rite?

i saw this guy's post...
but as i mentioned earlier RM18 for a piece of metal...
a bit over priced in my opinion..

will keep it as last resort though..

another suggestion from me

cost RM235 tho but worth it, quite powerful blow enuff to blow d dust on my CM V8 cooler fins  laugh.gif
*
but i heard that the violent air flow might potentially created static electricity that might damage the components...

wonder how HAF series dust problem haha
*
HAF series will definitely have greater problems with dust...
as there are more fan slots, for bigger fans, more hole to trap heat etc...

Water cooling is expensive and need constant maintenance..
need to change the coolant periodically rite?
and i think some high end water cooling radiator got a lot of fans as well
dust & sound problem will still be there...

i rather open up my casing and clean every month

The casing comes with 1 and only 1 fan (120mm) for the front panel..
which it connects to the controller on the top panel...(to switched the LED on and off)
don't think u wanna change it..

Well wat u mean was pantyhose..
i cut a piece of the cloth out and installed on the side panel...
Believe me..u will need it if u want to install a fan there..not becoz of dust but...
the design of the side plastic mesh is flawed...
no matter what fan u put there...it will have some VERY VERY VERY annoying whirling sound...
with the pantyhose filter...it is almost soundless smile.gif (refer to picture attached)

Im running it at positive air flow...3 intake 1 exhaust (not including the power supply)
and u are wrong...dust still everywhere in the casing despite cleaning my room very frequently....

no worries man..

It come with 1 fan and can only fit 1 fan >.<
behind the HDD drive mounting u can fit another fan...

but in my opinion..i dont think u want a fan there...
it will blocked (or messed up) by ur cables

my cm690, 1 fan in front the hdd casing
i take piece of sheet metal  cut hole in middle, below where got the dvd drive
maybe 1 inch border around the edge ah
screw fan onto metal, screw metal onto casing
i think it is alright.

to clean, can just vacuum suck the dust out the front lining.. dun harm it

i ve stopped use of the bottom fan on case
even with filter it suck too much dust.

mind showing us a pic?

install dust filter but will decrease the heat flowing
*
u mean air flow?
i tested that more air flow does not decrease the temperature anymore...
so the main aim is noise & dust reduction

This above pic is before side panel fan...
after side panel fan...the result is disappointing...
IT is almost the same temp
P/S: the air flow (look hdd temp) is hotter due to surroundings temps

not just cm casing have this problem. Me also have a sff casing (microfly) a lot of dust trap in my panaflo fan intake & exhaust side. But weirdly my cpu cooling thermaltake orb & PSU fan did not have a lot of dust. Maybe because i just quit smoking & my sff casing is located not under my table but higher my pc table.

Congrats for quitting the bad habit biggrin.gif

still researching on mineral oil since i heard that there are some types of mineral oil. so need to be careful + finding a good price.. im planning to get my 2nd pc into mineral oil due to jet fighter fans sound when my nephew play games & heat prob. its quite a mod, but i do think its worth it. my nephew will learn new science and get amazed while i can play my pc without extra distort noise from his pc smile.gif

source for mineral oil pc mod: http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/case-mod/2...ndrew-mollman/1

no dust, no heat issue, no noise at all but it do cost a lot. if any1 plan to get mineral oil,we might bulk it, pls pm me.
*
Submerge everything in the mineral oil?
How can u trade ur items after it..
What if u want to change a GPU??that will be damn messy rclxub.gif

what interest me is....will it actually damage the parts??

It aledi comes with filter lah..
even if u install more filters at the side...dust will still find its way in~
the temp inside wont go up very high with filters~~Air can still go in at a high rate~
