Latest update: Fran Merida signed for A.Madrid on pre contract Source: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Arsen...icle278309.htmlQUOTE Arsenal striker signs for Atletico Madrid
Arsenal striker Fran Merida is off to Atletico Madrid after agreeing a five-year contract with the Spanish club.
It is believed Merida - who turns 20 in March - has signed a pre-contract with Atletico after failing to win a regular place at Arsenal.
MirrorFootball reported on October 15 that Arsenal were furious that Atletico had "tapped-up" Merida and the Spanish club have finally got their man.
Arsenal offered Merida a new contract but the midfielder - a star for Spain in last year's World u-20 Championships - decided to return to his home country.
Arsenal had to pay £3million in compensation after a court battle with Barcelona after signing Merida as a 16-year-old. Arsenal will be due some compensation costs.
Merida's agent Joseba Diaz said: "It is not a question about money but it is because he wants to play. He is very grateful to Wenger and Arsenal but wants to build a career in Spain."

Madrid can offer him as much as what Wayne Rooney and Ferdinand is earning in manchester which is 100k++(if im not wrong). And by the look of it, only english players get those amount in EPL..

I personally don't think it will happen. Vidic is cup tied in CL and it'll be almost impossible to agree a fee with MU at this point in time.

Flamini moved on loan to Manchester City until the end of the season during the January 2010 transfer window? Is there any traction to this? Will it be a good loan move or a permanent signing thereafter? http://mancityblueplan.blogspot.com/QUOTE Not much credence has been given to the addition of Landon Donavon since his debut at Arsenal. IMO he bootstrapped an Everton team that lacked width and midfield cohesion. He is the key or missing link for Everton. Why am I not surprised that we lost to Everton? http://mancityblueplan.blogspot.com/2010/0...edia-dupes.htmlThe 10-week loan move of Landon Donovon is a masterstroke by Everton. Is it any wonder Everton did well when Landon made his debut at the Emirates. He is the real thing and a good loan move by the cheapskates (?) Toffees.
