Premier League Transfer Window Extended
The Transfer window is to stay open an extra day due to the bank holiday.

The transfer window was due to close on the last day of August, but since this is a bank holiday in England the Premier League has decided to extend the deadline.

"The Premier League confirms that the summer transfer window will close at 5pm on Tuesday, September 1,"
read a statement from the league.

"Following normal Premier League guidelines, it has been put back because August 31 falls on a bank holiday."

This is the third consecutive transfer window to be extended, last summer's was extended as August 31st fell on a Sunday. The winter deadline was also pushed back earlier this year.

Manchester City linked with move for Juan Riquelme?
http://www.imscouting.com/global_news_item.aspx?id=2901

QUOTE
Reports in Brazil today suggest that Manchester City have joined Corinthians in the race to sign Argentine playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme.

Corinthians were considered the favourites to land Riquelme and link him up with legendary Brazilian striker Ronaldo.

The Brazilian giants have though been put off by Riquelme’s demand for wages of two million euros a year and instead signed Matias De Federico from Huracan last week.

Manchester City have reportedly bid 17 million euros for Riquelme.

The 31-year-old playmaker made 34 appearances for Boca Juniors in 2008/2009, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists

'arry trying to get James?
Should we be concened for Spurs?

How very different to Happy Harry and his wheeler dealer approach. Let’s forget that he left West Ham overnight, and they then had huge problems, Portsmouth (what a mess today) and Southampton (administration, 10 points off, division 3).

Several transfers that caught my attention the past 2 weeks:

Roma get Bayern's Toni on loan.
Genoa bought Suazo.
Sportin Gijon bought Pongolle from Atletico.
Recoba is back to Uruguay's Danubio.
Portillo was transferred to a second division team, from Osasuna.

Patrick Vieira is expected to join Manchester City on a six-month loan deal by the start of next week. The former Arsenal captain has spoken with his former Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini, now the boss at Eastlands, and a deal is ‘99 per cent agreed’.
