You must spend money but you don't have to spend Real Madrid's kind of money to succeed. A good manager can do well with what he has at hand e.g. Felix Magath bought Grafite + Dzeko duo for less than 10 mil total IIRC and manage to bring Wolfsburg its first league title. Lauren Blanc manage to break Lyon's grip over France's Ligue 1 with Bordeaux without spending like crazy. Sir Alex himself manage to break Celtic and Rangers dominance when he took over Aberdeen and brought Man Utd out of its dark age with basically a kids squad.
Point is, money can only make you come so close to success but cannot guarantee them. |

Pompey hitman Peter Crouch is a target for BLACKBURN, who expect to sell Roque Santa Cruz to Manchester City for £15m.
Seville are also interested in midfielder Didier Zokora — but Tottenham want £8m. Spurs’ bid to sign Ruud van Nistelrooy could be hit as the £1.25m target wants to keep his current £90,000-a-week Real Madrid wage. |

If rich teams like Real, Man City, Chelsea gonna dominate football and start winning big trophies for at least 5 seasons from now on, and churning lots and lots of neo-fans and glory hunters everywhere...then we will feel the effects...like F1. ferrari or Mercedes or some renault. people will say "cheh arsenal...looser la wei put the jersey at home la wei"...oh i am a gooner. |

Being English adds at least 5 million pounds to your name. Ask Bentley and Bent.

bentley is moving out from white hart lane...
QUOTE The clubs are yet to agree a price for the 24-year-old, but Spurs will have to take a significant loss on Bentley. A £7m fee is being touted, less than half of what they paid for him a year ago. sourceThis one is english, and not overprice, right?? Benitez Vs O'Neill Round 2 - Ting Ting
MARTIN O’NEILL is hoping to win a second summer battle with Rafa Benitez over Steven Defour. O’Neill frustrated the Liverpool boss 12 months ago by preventing him from completing an £18m move for Gareth Barry. And now the Aston Villa boss is determined to beat the Spaniard in the £13m race for Belgian star Defour. O’Neill has been a long-time admirer of the Standard Liege midfielder, 21. He will use the cash raised from the sale of Barry to Manchester City to test the resolve of the Belgian club now Defour has made it clear he wants to leave. He said: “I have achieved what I wanted with Standard. “Maybe it is best for my career to make an upward step. I feel the time is right to move on. “It is up to them if they sell me and they will decide that I go to a good club.” Defour made a big impression on Benitez with European displays against Liverpool for Standard last August. And Benitez has made him a priority if Xabi Alonso or Javier Mascherano leave Anfield this summer. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/8...rns-a-Def-ear-/ |
