i would rather have that kid, what his name.. one of the da silva twins. the one who scored against us. rafael izzit? yeah, him, instead of nani.. but i am not considering selling robin or anything Added on June 18, 2009, 4:44 pmQUOTE(toshio14 @ Jun 18 2009, 04:40 PM) i actually have faith in Andy to play as a second striker just as well if not better than having Robin occupying 1 of the striker positions or to put it better in a nicer words, i think we can survive losing Robin if it is for the money that being rumored about and also for the fact that him having only 1 more season on his contract with us p/s : rupa2nya i forgot to put up Andy name as 1 of the strikers that we have earlier hmm, ok. so u prefer andy to robin. yes i like andy too, whats not to like? but i also like the way robin acted like a leader last season, when cesc was not around. he was not wearing the armband and all, but he still acted like one, and we need all the leaders we can get. and it helped that robin really gave his all last season. i prefer we trying to keep him, rise his wages if he wants, instead of selling him and buyng someone new, and have to start all over again. QUOTE(mengdez @ Jun 18 2009, 05:28 PM) Arsenal medical for Vermaelen» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Stopper poised to complete transfer from Ajax
Ajax defender Thomas Vermaelen has claimed he will undergo a medical at Arsenal on Friday ahead of his proposed move to the Premier League.
Reports have strongly linked Vermaelen with a switch to the Gunners in recent weeks, although manager Arsene Wenger has yet to comment on the speculation.
The Belgium international's agent recently suggested an agreement was close, with a four-year contract said to be on the table.
Vermaelen has explained how he plans to head to North London at the end of this week as he looks to tie up a reported 10million switch.
"The signature is not there yet, but everything is in order," Vermaelen told Gazet van Antwerpen.
"On Friday I will fly to London to undergo a medical. Then I hope to sign."
He continued: "I feel so proud. Arsenal is a fantastic club, and as a child I watched them play.
"On Friday, if I go to Emirates Stadium I will be seriously impressed.
"This will be a big change in my life, next year I will suddenly be facing the best strikers in the world.
"This does not scare me, I will give everything my body has.
"This is one of the best days of my life." Source: Sky Sports Believe it or not, up to you. somehow, seeing vermaelen's quotes makes it a bit.. i dunno. "On Friday, if I go to Emirates Stadium I will be seriously impressed. what? what if he is not impressed, then what? no signing? "This is one of the best days of my life." not that i am put off by the guy saying that joining arsenal is the best day of his life, it is just a lil scary. this all seems a bit too easy, keeping in mind the torture we wwent through to get andy. the staying up on deadline day... hehe

we are not real madrid. we dont simply buy superstars and hope they gel together. we buy unknown players and make them int superstars. thierry henry. enough said. u wanna be sugar daddy? knowing arsene, even if he had all the money in the world, he will not buy superstars. it is not his style. so what is your next brilliant suggestion?

yeah, i agree on the no selling robin thing. i mentioned that he acted like a leader in cesc's absence and scored well, assisted well. he did well last season, could do better, but tried to do better after being injured so much since he arrived. arsene should let him stay on. heck, i think arsene is not even thinking about letting him go, let alone to mu!

i'm intrigued... how so? but lets not jinx the season before it even starts. i took a look at the fixtures and we are going to be behind most of the teams coz of the cl qualifiers. we have a packed season next season and esp jan-feb where we play villa, mu, chelsea and liverpool in quick succession while ANC is going on, and january seems to be the season for injuries. but thats the pessimist side, being optimistic, at least we finish playing mu, chelsea, liverpool and villa by february.

QUOTE(Zan81 @ Jun 19 2009, 09:05 AM) I personally find it very risky and uncomfortable to have sugar daddies like the Glazers, Hicks & Gillett or even Abramovich. The first two put their clubs in debt, even to the extent of charging their own expenses to the club. While Abramovich is kind enough to fund it with interest-free loans, you never know when he might up and leave. Potential buyers will not want to take up the debt incurred by him and if he doesn't find a buyer, would he still be intereted to fund the club? And I was just thinking the other day, what would happen if lets say he crashed his yatch or private jet? (of course I hope that doesnt happen la... I'm not so evil). For the time being, I still believe AW is still the man to lead the club. But when the time comes for him to be replaced.... well... I used to hope it would be Tony Adams but he's getting a bit... loopy... Probably Martin Keown can make the step up. I don't know if Bergkamp is manager material, but definitely would make a great coach. It would be great if the backroom staff had Winterburn, Dixon, Bould, Adams, Alan Smith and Vieira though oh wait.. what about steve bould? he did fine with the kids.. they won the double. yeah, i know kids and the first team is different, but maybe arsene should give him a shot one day. heh.
