hey guys, any of u bought ipod touch from apple.my store? i wonder how long the postage will take.. on the website, it is stated 5weeks and pending for agency approval. i wonder what does that mean. will we need to pay customs when receiving the item? thanks

Customs everything will clear out for you. Just that not worth is to wait so long. By that time, you can see the iPods are all around already. -2cents thou.

Ok, just to clarify for everyone.

If you order through apple online store, get the engraved version (even though you don't really want to have anything engraved, just put your own initials or name or something) if you want to get it fast. You will get it within 6-7 days from the date you order.

If you order the non-engraved version, you will have to wait about 1 month.

This has been tried and tested.

Actually im staying overseas, and im planning to buy it as a gift for a friend in malaysia ^^

Yes, I canceled the previous order for the non-engraved version and made a new order for an engraved version. Received it in 6 days.

how did u know this? means it takes 5 days for the ipod to arrive after the online purchase was made?

Tried ordering my Ipod Touch earlier today via my Maybank debit card, it seems that it doesn't works this time, strange though as I could order two pieces of my Ipod Shuffle earlier using my Maybank debit card. Perhaps I should run down to the bank to check tomorrow.

Did you have to verify your purchase with the bank? i ordered my 32GB iPod Touch with engraving on sunday night 18/10. Apple sent me an email monday morning, asking me to email them my Credit card Statement. i replied to a idproof@apple.asia.com, since email sounds legit. Then i called my bank, they said the transaction has been approved. But til now no confirmation order from apple yet. : ( it states will delivery by 25th-29th. When did you get your confirmation order email? Did you do engraving?

but want to know in order for me to play video on the iPod Touch, can I just transfer my tv series and let it play on iPod Touch? (of course after i convert the video format)

MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 x 480 pixels ----> will the pixels cause any problem to the video that I wish to play??
or I can only play certain video on the iPod Touch?

Dont care pixels. Just make sure you convert the files to mp4 or m4r. If not iTunes couldnt read your movie.

My friend is selling me his 5.5th gen ipod video 80GB. He told me Apple replaces it with an exact same model but brand new for a fee of RM300.

Is that true? Do they still have stock? Or refurbished? The components inside are exactly the same?

if i am not mistaken,it is ipod classic 80GB.currently only 160GB available @ apple store or retail shop selling @ RM899

No..it's iPod Video 5.5th gen(before they call it Classic and changed the DAC to some inferior chip). It's more than 2 years old..no warranty
