no std pricing cos it's a package with the BD60.. so when split up.. so the TV price depends on how much they can sell off the BD60 separately..
*
hmm... so meaning in EM the BD60 got harga la, compare to Peninsula...

wanna ask u guys a question!!!

my dvd player just died.

Since this plasma TV has very good built in upscaling engine already, should i buy a dvd player with upscaling or should i just get a normal dvd player?
*
since no Pros here answer, i will try la, dun merajuk ... tongue.gif

First of all, I dun even know the TV itself can upscale, so if it really can, then no visible difference.

Of course choose DVD with more features like 'upscaling' which prolly comes with HDMI output for best results. Then again, 'upscaling' is often overhyped, dun expect fantastic reproductions.

Finally, you buy a FullHD TV, I suggest u do it justice and get a BD player. Like that, all problem solved nod.gif

afaik, most 4:3 movies even the side bar is embedded in the content, but for normal TV channels the grey color is selectable.
*
thats new to me... I tot the side gray bars and black top bottom bars are default settings. how to manually 'select' gray?

also, even if its gray, it doesnt solve completely the burn-in issue as is it still 'static' in nature (gray instead of black)?

Since we are all onto this calibrating and tweaking mode, can I ask if it is possible for me to copy someone's 'settings' and apply it onto my own TV? Will it work or does individual TVs need to be calibrated differently?

Technically, no. Since your environment and display chain are different, you need to redo it. However, u can try and if it suits u why not? Its ur set. Most importantly, u like it.
You are right, I have forgotten about the difference in environment doh.gif

hello all, just want to ask, how come some 1080 movie not 100% full screen? unsure.gif, some movie can even full screen...
*
Fullscreen or not depends on yr TV format. Most movies are in 21:9 format (cinemascope) and the most common TVs now are the 16:9 widescreens. Thats why not fit. Projectors aside, you can only appreciate full screen cinemascope on the Philips Cinema 16:9 TV currently.

owh like that kaaaa... now i understand, i ask this because i'm worried about the black bar up and down of the movie, if use the Zoom function, some video will be wierdly displayed...
*
Honestly, I use zoom most of the time, though the display will be vertically stretched, I still prefer this as it fills up the screen, making the display bigger. Subtitles will be a challenge though, if you need them. Dun forget also to 'un-zoom' it when you want to access the Pop-up Menu! biggrin.gif

yeah, actually i did use the zoom function and to be precise, i use the Zoom 2 one, better, but the subtitles a bit off (2 line) 1 line ok...

yesterday i purposely disable the zoom function and use the 16:9 which is the black bar appear like 1 or 2 hours (movie's standard playtime), is it advisable to do that? unsure.gif
*
yeah, another reason why i zoomed is becoz the TV's still new, want to avoid any IR issues...

Saw in SENQ TH-P42S10K and TH-L42S10K, my eyes told me to go for the LCD instead of plasma.  wub.gif

Plus, listed price for LCD is 200 lesser than plasma.  smile.gif

Wonder is it a correct choice?  sweat.gif
*
Its natural, LCDs have more vibrant colours, hence more 'catchy', though some might say plasmas have a softer natural feel.

Go with your eyes, thats all that matters.

I got my TH-P42S10K + free HDMI cable from Panasonic Raya sales for only RM2999 yesterday. Is it a good deal??

Depends on where you got it from. This is very important.

Got it thru my friend who works in Panasonic, he bought this at staff price during their yearly Hari Raya Staff Sales. I'm performing the break in now, overall very satisfy with it.
*
Mind sharing whats the Staff's purchase price is? smile.gif

My friend is extremely interested to buy this X18 as Senheng salesman claim it's FHD same as S10. He was impressed by my S10 42'. I know that X18 is a customized model from Pana to SH only. I just don't want my friend kena conned by them.
*
I think one of the dealers here confirmed it is exactly the X10, just a marketing gimmick.

When the main switch is turned off, the TV still got standby mode light. It will eventually go off after 1-2 mins. Why is that so?
