My Wii which I have had since launch (around 2 years) is starting to give me problems.

When I start it up and pop in a disc, it runs the disc and the game plays. But once I exit the game, the wii console won't read the disc or any other disc anymore.

Also, after popping out the first game disc, if I try to enter the wii setup page, it freezes on me.

Any suggestions?

Btw, does anyone have Maxsoft's contact address? Do they do repairs or do they only sell wii's?

Thanks.

If the problem is optical lens related, you might need a cleaning kit for it.

Added on May 21, 2009, 11:39 pmAhhh ... problem solved. It seems that the new wii update (4.0u) is causing crashes. It kinda suprises me that I'm the only one here in malaysia who has the problem. It is actually kinda widespread all over the world.

So, tell me are you guys really playing with ori games or not? From what I heard from GH, I'm only one of a handful of people buying original wii games. The rest are Jack Sparrows. smile.gif

C'mon now be honest. Piracy is stealing.

Umm... I haven't heard of that problem until your posted it up here, and gaming sites have no mention about the problem. Perhaps some Wii owners there are just unlucky, most Wiis here (even the modded ones) runs on US firmware.

There're a few people here who choose to play ori, but sadly the majority in Malaysia prefers cheaper games (read: free). Ironically some people who deals in properties (as in real estate) does not even respect intellectual properties.

Please don't insult me or the others here who maintained their true course instead of succumbing to the easy way out. What's making you say you're the only one facing the problem? Others may not be as vocal in expressing their niggles and problems here, or they may have resorted to finding out the problems and applying the solution first before harping about it in a messageboard. I had not a problem on mine, and I have never strayed from supporting the deserved developers with my wallet. So please before you start thinking that you are the only one supporting the just cause, thinking again. In fact, think again before you start blanket-claiming others being pirates. That is just rude.

I don't think he's implying that all LYN Wii owners are pirates, he's just asking a honest question. Note the bolded part:

I'm happy to know that there're at least some people in Malaysia who respects IPs. And you should too. wink.gif

And for everyone please don't stray away from the topic.

Tell me honestly that you dont think that the post you quoted from his post is not a classical flamebait.

As for the thread, the TS himself already posted, and case is solved. I dont see why the topic has to remain open, unless there's intention to discuss what the rest of the TS's posts implies. To not stray from topic,(since case is also solved btw) would'nt closing the thread be prudent?

Seriously I can't see anything from TS's posts as potential flamebaits. I don't feel insulted by his statement.

And if there're no more discussions on this matter the thread will sink to the bottom by itself and dissappear from view, there's no need for intervention from the moderators. This is how a public forum works. Unless of course you want to drag this matter further.

Ermm, the TS can close the thread itself. Not asking for any intervention on that part from anyone but the TS himself. Closing the thread is a sure way of avoiding the thread from straying itself from the main topic, or any elaboration of the already solved case.

Dont see the section that may be construed as flamebait? Fine, doesn't make any difference to me. But IMO, to be sure that this does not escalate any further, whether with true intentions or otherwise, the TS can make the right move and close it. End of story. icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm with string here feeling offended one way or the other.. GH is just a small fish in my pond, and less than 0.333% of my games are bought there, in fact only 2. You do the math.

But anyway, good to know you found the root to the problem and hope you'll be able to solve it.

You know, as a seller, I'm always on the lookout for customers that buys Wii games. When a deal is done, I can't help but ask my customers what's their views on purchasing original games. All of them reply that they like doing it.

TS, your question is displayed in the wrong way. Some may feel offended, and some may not. Perhaps the next time if you ask in a better way, you would get a much more different response than it is.

Either way, with the problem solved, we can close this thread now. Hope the info you found helped you out. biggrin.gif

To put it short, most of the regulars here are fans of original games but not all of them buy from GH. Ooj and Kyoyagami are some of the popular original Wii games sellers here. There're also cheap second-hand Wii games to choose from in the Nintendo Chamber of Commerce and Trade as well as the Consoles Couch Garage Sales.

Blackmango Games (Ooj)
Kyo's Mini Game Mart (Kyoyagami)

Due to too many unrelated postings, I'm afraid I have to close this thread. Feel free to discuss anything Wii related in the Nintendo Wii Discussion Thread. I hope you can solve your problem and enjoy gaming on the Wii. Thank you.
