QUOTE(ronnt88 @ Sep 29 2009, 10:52 PM) hehehe.... tested with transformers.... was too overpowering & loud so I had to turn down the volume on sub to 50% (was 100%) still i don't think my plaster ceiling adapts well to it.. haha.. sound was ok.. i feel like it can go much more if the room permits. There were scenes where the explosions scared me & i feel a little deaf afterwards. Definitely has room for improvement.... Then i put in my David Foster BD and this is where the submersive shines.. I just love it's musicality tight, responsive, effortless bass... my my ... wonder how much I can improve it via calibration Bad news is, there's a slight hum when everything's on but quiet... can't hear it from sitting position but noticable when u go near the submersive hope this can be fixed.... bro anfieldude .. where r u? Hummming sound? Try to connect a earthing cable to the plate amp. I assume u r using a good quality sub cable. Oh btw CONGRATULATION! Do post up ur subby pic. TQ berry muck!

QUOTE(Bishop @ Oct 1 2009, 01:27 PM) Got a noob question to ask. I got the Paradigm 10' subwoofer. It power is set to Auto, meaning that it will turn on when got signal and turn off when there is none. The issue is, sometimes while watching movies in the slow part the subwoofer will turn off by itself. The thing is it gives a 'pop' sound when it turns off. Is that normal? of should I leave the power at always on...? Thanks. My subby also a Paradigm so far no POKE sound all very quite unless it got LFE signal. It is on 'stand by' mode at all time but if it got LFE signal it will be in 'power on' mode for 20 minutes before going to 'stand by' mode against. Do u meant u got POP sound when u turn off/on other 'equipment' like light, fan & son on & so forth? If this is the case u can use a computer regulator ( Rm60 ) to powered ur subby this will solve the popping sound. BTW what Paradigm model u got? Hope this info help.

QUOTE(mpyw @ Oct 7 2009, 02:27 PM) Great article on where to place your sub-woofer:- I am using Fig2 placement.........except the front left sub is about 1' from wall, right back sub is about 1' on each side in a corner. Measuring output from both sub need spl meter so that sub vol output is about the same due to using different sub & sitting position.

QUOTE(anfieldude @ Oct 7 2009, 03:20 PM) Alternately u could use AS-EQ1 and it would do it for u.... AS-EQ1 only meant for elite lah. Peasant like me have to use ear & feel for the bass...........so if for eg when testing U571 whole room & even floor vibrate then feel very good already ( even if hotel California sound like bass makenic ) . He! He! I am sure my setting if can produce graph sure got big mountain deep valley wan. This post has been edited by HornyAngMoh: Oct 7 2009, 03:35 PM

QUOTE(mpyw @ Oct 8 2009, 11:59 AM) Paradigm SUB 1 and SUB 2 subwoofers -- six drivers on three sides for buzz-free bassby Steven Kim posted Oct 2nd 2009 at 1:16PM Paradigm doesn't move models in and out of its Reference Signature lineup very often, and the SUB 25 was introduced less than a year ago. Progress never stops, though, and the SUB 25 has been displaced as top dog by the SUB 2 and its "little" brother SUB 1. These new designs feature six drivers (10-inches in the SUB 2, 8-inches for the SUB 1) arranged in three radially symmetric stacked pairs -- the end result being a lot of effective radiating area with in-cabinet forces that balance each other out. In the real world, that means more boom and less buzz, especially with the kilowatt range Class D amps Paradigm includes in these subs. Yeah, we want one too, but even with just six drivers this isn't going to come cheap. The $3,500 price tag on the SUB 1 is comparable to the outgoing SUB 25, but the SUB 2 will sink your wallet to a $7,500 crush depth. Pick yourself up off the floor and read the full release after the break if you're interested. Oh YES! I am very very interested! But wallet very thin so can only dream loh! BTW tq very much for this info...........I will have Bass dreams against.

Vol at -16, sub level at 10 o'clock at -6.5db at AVR, running on 16Hz mode on the SVS PC12+ I am trying to avoid the metal shield waving by the Hulk and the pressure generate by the sound wave from the 2 army truck....I can feel the pressure....and can feel every steps of the Hulk...earth shaking type.... previously can only hear the stomping foot sound, but I can feel now.... Totally new experience See! Now u get to really enjoy Bulu ray! Investment in a good subby is most rewarding! Just imagine how it would be like if u have invested in TWO SVS PB-13U!

[/quote] He! He! I like to open up leg...........eh I meant open up stuff I really want to examine the inside. Luckily didn't see any 'Made In China' & can see that it is all 'hand made'. BTW I only open up stuff since there r no security seal so open up SVS also don't know just have to be very careful when taking out the driver which is dam heavy.

QUOTE(ronnt88 @ Oct 13 2009, 11:57 PM) i dun think can tapao 13-ultra.. i never heard ultra b4 but belief both have different acquired tastes Seal sub do go low but it lack the ump feeling where as ported sub do give u the ump feeling but at the expense of 'clean' bass. In ur case due to ur humongous sub u get to enjoy the low powderful LFE. So to enjoy the best of both type of bass why not buy a PB-13U, I am sure it will look sui sui in ur pad! Oh have u try out Bass Mekanik music? The LFE can go real low!

QUOTE(ronnt88 @ Oct 14 2009, 09:54 AM) u mean buy another pb13U so I have best of both worlds? Funny my fren said the same thing For discussion's sake, is it ok to mix sealed & ported subs? Yes! Actually I am having a 7.2 set up now with two sub, one ported (300w, peak 900w ), one sealed ( 1000w, peak 2000w ), one in front, one at the back so now I am poked by LFE front & behind! So base on my bass sexperiance the best set up is to have two sub one seal & one ported. Of cause both must be powderful so in ur elite case the only locally ported sub powderful enough to compliment ur submerine will be the SVS PB-13U. The only problem will be the setting up, u need the help of a spl meter to ensure both output is at the same level.

Ah yes! Different people have different taste in bass. Some like to have good quality & tight bass which to me is 'elite bass' since it need elite sub & 'equipment' where as some like big, bone shacking bass..........the type which u can find in most 'ah beng' car. I am afraid I fall into this 'Ah Beng Bass' category. I love to watch movie with really heavy bass effect even though I might have to replace my ceiling eventually as it is now vibrating badly.

QUOTE(htkaki @ Oct 27 2009, 10:25 PM) Am I safe to say that you run your subs extremely hot? Not worry that the plaster ceiling landing on top of your head? He! He! Try to imagine Hotel California with bass drum! But seriously now after doing more setting up the bass is not longer so 'Ah Beng', my avr sub level is at -15db..... So I must say to myself I have 'learned' to appreciated 'elite bass'.
