Setting the x-over lower than Audyssey recommendations is not a good idea. Audyssey does not correct below its recommendations. Setting it higher shd be no problem.

I was very impressed. I believe the sub is now screaming for a bigger room. As I said, Ron's room is difficult to equalize. There are a lot of reflections, thus the sub does not have enuf room to exercise its large lungs....

I was especially impressed with Audyssey's correction, there was virtually no boominess that any of us could detect. Even though there is a 31Hz peak, it still performs very well.

Probably in mid Nov or later.

Now, still checking on the current stock situation as some guys are upgrading to Ultra and a bit messy for now due to quite a few upgrading here and there. Shall update on that.

Dont need subdude, buy the AS EQ 1 la, one off solution. Dont need bass trap and whatever.

HTkaki came over my pad yday and help me calibrate my set with the inclusion of my new baby, the AS EQ 1..

Previously i was very sceptical that such product can work magic on the bass as i experienced very loose, muddy and boomy bass.. After setting up the As EQ 1, listening to bass was a different thing.. Tight, solid and clean bass..

As what both Ron and Htkaki say, after flicking the switch on and off a few times, i'm pretty sure my AS EQ 1's switch will be left 'on' AFAIK... Downside is, i'm still trying to adapt to certain scenes where the bass suddenly doesnt have the loud effect anymore (visible in transformers scene, the first scene "helicopter scene" and the airport "explosion scene")... Not boomy, and clean bass but stg's missing and that will be because of the near flat graph i assume..

Another thing to notice is that, after calibrating my set using the SPL meter, all my speakers (LCR, Surr & sub) trim were set to -9db sad.gif... Even setting to -12db trim on my AVR but still couldnt achieeve the 75db reference level on the SPL meter.. Probably HTkaki can shed some light on this and the solution..

But nevertheless, i think this AS EQ-1 has solved most of my bass problems biggrin.gif

if i do have a spare unit of EQ1, I'll bring the unit to you when I am in Ipoh.

I knew that you are after quality bass. Most ppl will notice that the 'oomph' is gone, no more in your face bass after running EQ1. Always an option to run it hotter than at 75dB. Not many will be going for neutral since majority running their subs hot. There is this guy who told me that he runs his at +5dB  rclxub.gif  Say bye-bye to details
*
taukeh jchong wouldn't need eq1 since his pad is so comfortable and the F15 is a very well controlled sub.

Went on quite well. Near flat graph really need to get use too as robinlim did not particularly like it. However, bryanlee and his friend like it. They said that the 13-Ultra's bass is tight and powerful. Lazy to elaborate here. When you are free to come over, pls let me know.

I believe so. I must come one day to have proper 'imaging' of calibrated pb13 in my mind.
Then I would know how bad is my setting. sweat.gif

Things are getting too technical for noobie like me. LOL.
FR graph is useful and another way of interpreting figures.
I more interested to see waterfall graph to see controlled of a good sub.
I could only judge them by ear. laugh.gif

Yesterday, I had a special guest at my home to test out the PB13-Ultra. Finally, he is able to audition it with a much better 'controlled' environment althought the room is not an impressive one compared to his  blush.gif
