Just out of curiosity, how many of you knew early on that you can go through the auto clearance gates at Sg immigration using only our Malaysian passports?

I only found out last Thursday night at Tuas immigration. Seems like I  bodoh-bodoh wasted over 4 years queuing at the manual clearance counters when there was no need to. I wonder why the immigration officers never once made a remark or asked me why I didn't use the auto clearance gates instead.

when the time i applied EP, i provided them my cert in english version but they want malay version and then another colleague of mine provided them malay version cert, they want english version pulak!!

what's the best way to travel to KL then?

Normally I just take KTM from Tanjong Pagar... get a bed and sleep the whole journey. The next morning the officer will wake everyone up.

Moreover it is cheap... only less than RM50

I tried bus before... comfortable but the time is awkward. Reach KL around midnight is dangerous and troublesome to my parents/friends.

Do you need to 'deal' with them? If you really feel you have to respond... tease them back about earning less than half of what you do, and still pay more tax to build mosques and MARA colleges. Smart...

I will be going to SG next month, but now I am wondering about my mobile stuff..
because my bf still stays in Msia, so I'm not sure which mobile plan shud I take up as I plan to call him instead of he calls me cos I was told SG call rates are cheaper than Msia call rates.

So, any mobile plans to recommend??
p/s: I will make more calls to IDD instead of local calls, thanks ya..
one thing to mention, now I have one prepaid card which hi card, so can I still continue using it? or I need to change a better plan?

I asked my gf to call me from Malaysia, using the pennytel voip services. Call from PC though, RM0.028 per min. hehe.

Tried that website, its more of a tool for rental agents to hawk their rooms, ive used it quite a few times trying to find a room. And nearly all of the time it doesnt go 100% smooth.

An example would be the use of the washing machine, most ppl would say that you have free use of the washing machine or within the limits of being reasonable. But after a week or so, disputes will arise about its use as an example, the landlord will ask you to only wash in certain days due to he/she wanting to recycle the waste water from the RO water machine for use in washing your clothes on the premise that it saves water for the landlord. But the real kicker is that the landlord never mention this when he/she wanted to rent out the room with the facilities.

Most of the time, i find that a large majority of landlords in singapore are very particular about water, especially the use of the washing machine. Thats why im looking for a house where there is no landlord since i hate these kind of stupid stipulations, told to me after agreeing to rent from them. At least they have the courtesy to tell me beforehand.

My tap takes around 5 seconds to fill my 1.5L boiler. One minute, that means 18L. 25 minutes = 450L of water. Let's say 500L for easy calculation. 1m3 or 1000L costs S$2.03 at the higher domestic tariff. That means each shower you take... errr, took... costs a buck.

S$30 a month for showers. Double that if you shower twice a day. Plus S$2 a night for aircond, the utility bill for just one of you is easily S$100 per month.

Anybody stay with landlord who is a single parent with a child in singapore?

Donno why children who come from single parent most probably will turn out rotten.

I will be going back since this coming hari raya puasa holiday since it sure boring stay back here. But last year didnt go back since my landlord who was malay treat me homemade food, and not bad, especially his spicy fried chicken.

My current household just the parent and the only child, nearly everyday the mother will scold the son after she comes back from work until her voice becomes coarse. Like always the son come back from school later then when i return back from work (Thats how late he comes back) and sometimes he comes back even at 10pm and hes just only 13 years old. Usually will have shouting match between son and mother, luckily i bought noise cancellation headphones when the shouting begins. I pity both of them since the son kena fire quite teruk from the mom since she is the like those auntie once got small problem will TCSS, and mother has a "wild" child who doesnt listen and doesnt care the situation he is in since with him following his current behavior, sure become gangster one. Oledi training everyday come back very late, the kid got no cash, no handphone and yet can find something entertaining that he can stay outside till night time.

Plus their house no internet or even computer. They have a tv but its in the moms room.
