777 is the dream fleet of many pilot. Other than the basecheck, u should be enjoying your life ma.

i don't think i have the chance to fly 777 . aiming for the Red Bus now.

haha, line training itself is the problem. The thing is they are pretty hard on us lately. I am not sure what the reason is i believe it has got to do with some of the near accidents that we have lately. Having said that, line training is pretty damn sh*t and really the way this company runs it reflects how the country works. Don't really have to elaborate on that u know what i mean. Seriously, i'll like to enjoy my life in a 320 rather than having stressed up in a 777.

I dont really know how its like in AA and MH mind telling me how they run the company ? Anyway are u doing ur type rating now

will they recruit cadets this year? lol. really interested.

i don't think so. MAS already got a lot of cadet pilots in flying academies under their sponsorship. shakehead.gif

on a side question, my friends and i are taking alevels currently and suddenly feels like devoted to flying.
if we apply for flying school does that boosts advantage or anything? As i know all flying school accepts lepasan spm.
*
a-level or degrees don't really boost advantage to the application. u still need to pass the health n IQ tests. 1 batch of cadet pilot may consists of school leavers, fresh graduates or even experienced project managers laugh.gif (i've met this kind of cadet pilot bfore).

QUOTE(laszlo @ Jun 4 2009, 12:43 AM)
No intake from MAS as of now. They frozed the cadet pilot and direct intake for pilots since they have a lot of pilots graduated from flying academy still not online yet. Furthermore, there's also a lot still in flying academies.
*
yeah. my bro told me that too. nod.gif nod.gif nod.gif

MAS isn't going to offer cadetship this year and 2010. they planned to open it again on 2011. but they already have a lot of cadet pilot in their hand.

mas still got more than 10 batches waiting inline for line training
also there are still a number of batches that havent finish flying school.

as for the intake for 2011, i'm not very sure but i heard rumors that mas no longer sponsor cadets
their future cadets will be tied up under mas but the flying school fees will be in loan term with mara. not sure this is true or not.

and note that mas will not take female pilots
its mas policy
its got to do with some internal issues

other airlines in malaysia that take female pilots are AA, fireflyz, masswings and berjaya air

AA currently is still taking cadets from last i heard
but i personally think that they will also opt for the pilots with no job now.

froms last years statistics in malaysia alone there is more than 500 flying school graduates that still have no job.

for those who really want to become pilot and are willing to do their licence privately, the fees now is ranging from 246k above.
that is for complete cpl/ir with frozen atpl
but u must study hard because if u need to re-do any flying exams,
it will cost u around 800 bucks for each extra hour
and each flying exams is min of 2 hours

in malaysia the flying school that mas have sent their cadets are 3.
MFA, HMA and APFT.
but there are also some other flying school like bintulu and KLIFA JB.

these info and facts is just what i know
it may be outdated
please correct me if i'm wrong

-peace-
me out

theres tooo many cadet pilot in MAS .. if u were called for the first stage interview .. the probability for u to enter the flying school after all the stages is on the end of 2010 .. by then .. u will need at least 1.5 years after all the school training .. usually they extended to 2 years because of too many students ..

means. . at the end of 2012 .. then u need at least 1 more year for line training , sim training n everything .. mind u .. there are at least 500 people waiting for sim training at the moment ...

i would suggest u to take any other things first .... dont just go there with ur SPM cert .. yes .. u can do that .. but i think its better to have at least a degree or diploma ... by that time .. maybe the industry is moving fast again at that time .. smile.gif

Good day everyone,

I wanna ask several questions which are of course relating to this discussion topic. How much MAS will pay to their Cadet Pilot during the training period? and how long for the contract that need to be signed by the Cadet Pilot?

Allowance - It depends on the company and which flying school u will be placed in
Contract with MAS - 10-15 years
