Im still a noob... so, looking for dslr with live view.
Maybe after graduating from noob school, then can join semi pro... and maybe guling-guling on the floor like pro... hehe

with gorillapod SLR, still have to lay on the floor to view the viewfinder (if no LiveView) right?

I think I'll take the longer route... wait for the new A330 brownie ... hopefully

I guess you are right...

functionality-wise - maybe not much improvement (except for NO AEL & lower battery capacity ... DRATTT !!! )... but there's the higher / taller flash than the old A300.

but ecstatically -- a lot of improvement IMHO (for my taste la) eg the size & dimension (smaller than the older A300, which I think I prefer) + GUI menu design looks like a winner (for newcomer to dslr) + nice brown color ...

Those are the few things that I can remember... hence, I pujuk myself to hold my desire for another month or two till the arrival of the new A2x0 & A3x0

Why is the face not as sharp as her jeans ? ... Apperture is small, should the face be sharp? maybe because of low shutter speed ? (as seem you want the pink petals to be blurry) ... am I right ?

My peripheral vision I guess has too much bokeh. Sharp only at focus point...

Ive an old Nikon SB15 speedlite . Can the flashlite be used with Sony alphas (esp A3x0 series as I intend to get the A330 soon hopefully ) ? or should I try to sell it? donno how much I can get for it though...

Im thinking of getting some eneloop batteries... but Imedeon is cheaper. I think I'll order Imedeon la...

A330 is being advertised for sale on ebay by a power seller and the the bidding ends on July 2. Hence, I do still have hope that the new A2x0 & A3x0 alphas will be available in July.

psstt... although I doubt the photo of the A330 box with the A330 label is fake... ie PP altered.

Ive just found out that Maha Imedeon is very similar to Eneloop (but cheaper) thus thats the reason Im going for the Imedeon. Ive been using Eneloop but have never used Imedeon.

Eneloop 4 pcs AA = $66/- (lowyat seller)
Imedeon 4 pcs AA = $49/- (at shashinki)

Eneloop 2000mAh 1.2V
Imedeon 2100mAh 1.2V

In terms of lastibility, both seem able to last for 1 yr with 85% charge retain.

is Varta a LSD battery or just the normal rechargeable?

My Olight (lampu suluh) that is ~12x brighter than normal incandecant (mentol biasa) flashlight
My mom uses my eneloop for her P&S kodak digital
Im thinking of replacing almost all (if not entirely) my dependence on normal alkaline and other non rechargeable 1.2V batteries... Im going green...

Using LSD over longer period... is cheaper.
eg Eneloop or Imedion cost say $50-66/4pc ie per pc is $12.50 - $15.50... can recharge 1000x with each recharging cost maybe ~1 sen
Normal battery AA cost say ~$1.00
Therefore, after around 15x recharging, you will already start to save your $$$


LSD eg Eneloop
1 month lose ~10% of its charge
3 months lose ~10-13% of its charge (ie still retain about 87-90% of its charge)
12 months lose ~15-20% (ie still have 80-85% capacity remaining)

other non LSD
after 3 month charge remain ~70%
after 12 months charge remain 0%

Just a little bit more on LSD

from test posted at dpreview... AA and AAA NiMH low self-discharge tests--Round 2

Summary result of self discharge test after 3 month:
LSD AA NiMH performance
1st place: Maha Imedion (IME),
2nd place: (tied) Kodak Pre-Charged (KPC) and GP ReCyko (GRY) (both tied 2nd place... ie graph very similar)
...
others moderate performance include the Ansmann Max-E (yamiya sells them) and Eneloop.
