I'm currently looking for 32" FullHD LCD TV for the following purposes:
- DVD/MKV and other HD movies viewing (not for Astro)
- XBOX360 and other PS2/PC games
- Web browsing and other normal tasks using HTPC

I've looked around at Best Denki and Harvey Norman

LG
32LH70YR (Spec) RM2899
32LG80FR (Spec) RM2799
32LG53FR (Spec) RM2499

Sharp
LC32A66M (Spec) RM2766 retail, RM2300 Garage sales

Overall, LG got more nice features than Sharp, but I haven't find lower price for LG yet.
I wonder if I should choose Sharp for its quality? Or got other recommendation?
Thanks.

4 me i'll go for lg as i have 2 units at home,1 37 inch and 1 42 inch,in terms of pic quality etc lg is much better and i have a friend who has lots of problems with his sharp 32 lcd,and til now the guy is still finding ways to improve it by buying power cords, hdmi cables etc,so if you want to get a decent 32 lcd with ease of use, sit back and start enjoying it you better go for lg

I'll take Sharp anyday...coz i owns one. Great video quality, never bother with any tweaking.

the story I believe : go to the shops and do side by side comparison from same source(be it DVD, HD, astro or...), take which suite most to your eyes only, not tv brand.

this is wrong too as the shop might tune the calibration differently for different models, so it might end up showing some model is better than the other tongue.gif

ask for them to have the remote control, and set to default. if they refuse, then go away, don buy from them as their service is not good.
My case is, I went for many different shops to see, and I got my conclusion...

Thanks for the info, I have bought Sharp LC32A66M from htkaki. So far, I like it. The video part is great, but the built-in speaker is too bad, SRS TruSurround XT & Bass boost is simply wasted.

Anyway, take note if you plan to use the built-in speaker. It's OK for me, since I'll be using external speakers.
