i was a victim of the dreaded YLOD a few days ago but the good news is that I actually managed to fix it. the cause of mine is similar to the xbox where high heat causes the gpu or cpu to detach from the mainboard.

anyone has successfully used alternate cooling methods on PS3s?
i believe if the ps3 is cooled well enough, it would prevent to ylod from happening most of the times. |
