This is a noob question from a noobie PS3 owner (yours truly) :-

Say if I'm playing a game, and the game hangs, what's the proper procedure for shutting down ?

Do i :-

(a) eject the disc 1st and then commence forced shutdown (by pressing the start/off sensitive keypad on the front of the console); or

(b) let the disc remain in the console and commence forced shutdown (by pressing the start/off sensitive keypad on the front of the console).

I've been doing the same thing too but yesterday when following a friend of mine to survey a PS3, the seller said :-

"Kalau u tengah main hoorr, game ada stuck, u jangan kasi eject itu disc...restart balik..kalau u eject itu disc, lama2 you punya lense boleh rosak"

.....deep down inside i went like "errrkk....biar btol baaaaaaaiii"

kekekekek a possibility also beb.....

For YLOD, unless and untill SONY can pinpoint the exact causes and make a product recall if the situation so requires, at the very least SONY should consider taking the approach of Microsoft....to extend its warranty. Clearly it's a problem which SONY has yet to identify.

Try sending it to Bernard first.........

The YLOD problem is not limited to any region or model....it's universal.
