Mine just shuts down with the blinking light ONLY when I'm playing Uncharted 2. Happened with the demo as well.
All other games run fine.

that means that the console is overheating  sweat.gif need to cool, i cant believe that ps3 is also suffering overheat issues just like the xbox did  cry.gif

yeah the red blinking light is usually an overheating issue.. but i only get it when i play uncharted 2.. i think uncharted 2 pushes the ps3 to the max! fan works too hard.. my old ps3 is too weak..hehe sigh!

that becoz the U2 was run in rick texture + framerate + everything you see delicious in there...the GPU was used at full resources, that why the system fan goes berserk coz their are working to cool da system as they could. what i can see atm the PS3 cooling system was GREAT but i do believe there are some slack in architecture by blending the heat out from the casing...some wut the hot air stuck within & couldn't pass thru the ventilation fin smoothly, causing the system to over heat in due time.

i saw some people said that they were playing in da aircond room & still got YLod? do you think play in aircond room gonna help cool your system? objectively yes, but in subjectively no...most likely the thing goes like these..... in cool environment lets say one place like your rooms, then put a ps3 system, when you turn it on it will start to generate heat in there, do you think it will go cool? i don't think so, coz the cool air thats enter will be converted to hot air & the hot air that generate will not vaporize on to the thin air bcoz the air there was not thin anymore & it will be only stumble in one place around the generated area & couldn't vaporize elsewhere due to being suppress by the cool air, for instance try get a hot coffee the put it in fridge, then you see wut will happen? the coffee will be cool but not so easily cooled it'll take time & if you notice the condensed fog just stayed in one place they couldn't move elsewhere to be seen that becoz the cool air were suppressing the hot air temperature goes down...in fizik (cheywah lol) the hot air were more like unstable atom they were apart from each other more like bloating (that why we call it a thin air) as for the cool air they are more like solid atom sticking up together (more like a fat princess) eiiiii? WTF am i tutoring here OMG doh.gif ...ok i ask you a question, do you have sum laptop at home or in the office i mean in closed environment? how was it when you were using there? my hand was sweating while I'm typing these post, due to heat stumble around the laptop that couldn't vapor into the thin air... sweat.gif

so in my conclusion it doesn't matter if yaa playing in aircond room or not, to me its more like suppressing your system more than cooling it. i found that this is more related to ventilation system that why our ps3 always over heated...

now i'm pejam mata ready to be flamed mega_shok.gif

hrmm.. i did some experiment la. had some friends over.. played GH world tour. then plug in 4 usb skali.. half way playing one song then it started to go blink2 red light. so i restarted the ps3.. played GH5.. plug in all that usb again.. but it didnt go blinking.. played almost 4 songs tapi still ok.. then tukar game again to world tour.. the blinking problem starts again.. so.. i guess it is the firmware problem.. anyways.. i play movies alot on my ps3.. the ps3 never go blinking.. pelik tul..

anyway. got this from yahoo answers.. as same as some other websites.. im gonna try re-seating my HDD tonight, maybe it'd do the trick?

"It is highly advised to call up Sony service center if you figure such problems as it might be due to over heating or the cause would be something else. To be on the safer side, do not try to work on it yourself if you are not well aware of what you are doing. On being out of service warranty it can cost you something around $150 or even less and it depends on the problem your device is facing.

You might be certainly worried or go wild when PS3 blinking red light problem comes up. Just keep calm and face the situation boldly. According to the experts, the reason for this would either be due to misplaced connection of the hard drive or the drive might have rendered to be dead completely.

If you are looking out for a quick fix of the PS3 blinking red light problem, it is better to go with re-seating the hard drive. For this, you need to completely remove the hard drive physically and then reinstall the same. Sometimes, performing this simple task could prove to be a solution for your problem. On the other hand, if the problem of PS3 blinking red light persists, you must be ready to buy a new one.

When it comes to replacing the hard drive, do not keep thinking about it as it is not going to cost you more. You can simply get a cheaper one these days as there are almost all varieties available in the market. It would also be less expensive when compared to sending your gaming console to the Sony for a fix."
