if it's not convenient for you to go to Singapore and send it for warranty, i suggest u go and seek bro tot31 for his lens repair service. maybe he can be of service to you.

just to share my experience on claiming warranty.

the service center is at level 4 wisma atria, just right next to orchard mrt station.

i had registered warranty online so i just present them the unit and sign some papers and its done.

he ask me to call back on wednesday to check status. i will update on then...
*
Ok, do update us all in here. But one thing though, during the two times i've been to the service center, they never asked me to call them back to check status. they themselves will call me back (usually on wed/thurs. i gave my ps3 on the previous sunday) if my ps3 is done repaired. i did asked them to email me but they never did. donno why, maybe the like to speak thru the phone more laugh.gif

Undead. The shop didn't ask you to pay to fix the dead lens ? Why did the shop that i bought from asked me to pay RM300. Liars ? Skin ? How's your story ?  sad.gif  Damn.
*
Raiko, which shop you bought? As far as I know, Game shops never hold warranty for PS3. Only Sony Singapore/Hong Kong etc. (dats why they charge you for lens fixing). Shops only responsible for taking your PS3 to the service center and getting it back for you. if they are willing and you dont mind waiting for 3months or more la. I cannot tahan the wait thats why i went to the service center in singapore by myself.

hey, I DO read these kinda things tongue.gif

anyway, thanks for the update. funny, i always request them to send me email but they never do. only to non-singaporeans/malaysians i think laugh.gif

about that FW downgrade, i dont know how they did it because you can never downgrade. only upgrade.
but nothing to worry, the important thing is, you have a fully working ps3 once more. plus, you can always do it by yourself. i.e upgrade to FW2.41

i. did your game/movie froze?
ii. what game/movie was it?
iii. what did you do after it froze? (i.e turned it off from the flip switch at the back/eject the disc)
