Anyone has updated to 2.80 firmware yet? Why hasn't my PS3 prompt me for an update? Before this, my PS3 always prompt me for updates...And now I'm scared to update also cause someone posted that his PS3 has been bricked after updating to 2.80....

Hi ppl. For those who read about my thread regarding the v2.80 update that bricked my PS3, here's the update for it since mod closed my thread.

I took back my bricked PS3 to the Sony Center and told them it is unable to load the Assassin's Creed bluray and they told me that they will check it. Upon powering up the bricked PS3, they immediately did a system update via Wifi and they told me that it is necessary. Then the PS3 prompted that the firmware is of the latest and no updates are required. Then they put in the AC bluray and true enough, it did not load. After like half an hour where they tried it with other bluray discs and all, they came and told me that it is most likely a faulty bluray drive and replaced a brand new unit for me. That made my day. 

Hence, as requested below are the pictures of my brand new PS3 unit that was just hooked up this morning.

mann u dunt think he's flaming me?....ok let me put u through from my point of view, rite now im offering my service to anybody whos had been victim of dis ylod, now if u care enough to see my late post im already tell that im using dis heatgun method, so u see ur good old bro who also want to find a customer like me just simply said "most technicians here uses basic method example heat guns.
i think they have actually busted their customer's console instead of fixing it." which is unfortunately me being adress bcuz im using dis heatgun method....so why wouldnt i get piss off? look bro u noe wat dis are example of bad competivenes, bashing others products, servive or wat so ever in order to excell its own..n sory i cant accept that, if anybody wants to compete let it be fair n square..

when I was in JB, my PS3's wifi was busted. I brought it back to Sony Center in Wisma Atria at Orchard Road, they exchanged it on the spot with a brand new unit.

abg wong klo yg 1st kena YLoD then later turn RLoD (Red Light of Death) abg bley bela kaa?
dia hanya nyala standby light no respond what so ever...

Bro afrojo managed to revive my 60GB SG unit yesterday (04/07/09). Lots of thanks to him. Colt, nanti aku add ko. Bro Nyet, I'm getting Warhawk again next month... Just you wait, bro. Wakaka..
