Sorry for exaggerating the title. But, hey...who's crazy enough to mod a RM670 case 5 hours after you bought it. whistling.gif
But, this is my MINIMALIST approach on modding. Simple yet striking. So, sorry again if this doen't quite qualify as a mod.

Hmm...where do I start? I have bunch of pics taken but I lost my cable. So, bear with me for certain areas might be lagging in picture attachments as I can only used my phone as a medium.

1st of all I'd like to debunk the worldwide myth of "RV01 is cable management nightmare". I've read numerous forums & blogs saying this. But with a few pointers (no drill, no dremmel used), perhaps people might have a second thought of getting this beast. However, I also would like to welcome all RV01 owners (as well as others) out there to give their thought on this. Make it constructive. I only notice these hidden tricks when disassembling the casing (which is a pain in the nates).

Motherboard:
Rampage II Extreme

So, lemme start.

MYTH: RV01 has HUGE space but too little@small space/slot/hole to slip in cables.
user posted image user posted image
The horizontal circle points to the area beneath the motherboard which has a very narrow openings.
The vertical circle shows a bigger hole, however the hole sits right beneath the motherboard which makes it hard to slip in 'fatter' cables (usb, firewire).

So, I found two SOLUTIONS for these problems.

1. REMOVE THE 180mm FAN BRACKET
user posted image user posted image
Small openings just got bigger...

2. USE THE OPENINGS AROUND THE RADIATOR MOUNT BAY TO ROUTE THE CABLES

a) REMOVE THE REAR SLOT
user posted image

b) USE THIS INSTEAD OF THE VERTICAL OPENINGS

MYTH BUSTED!

Can't quite share the end product yet caused my sleeves haven't arrived yet.

Now, let's get to the fun part...SNEAK PREVIEW

user posted image The Blazing Raven? Red Raven? sweat.gif Haven't thought about the name yet.

Here is my rig...

Purchased from Low Yat Plaza. Drove aaallll the way back to Kota Tinggi, Johor & straight to business. Hell yeah my mind was racing with ideas while driving. That, cut the journey 1 hour shorter as well. ( rclxub.gif can't wait to unpack this monster, can't wait to unpack this monster rclxub.gif )

As I reached home..I noticed that this casing...yada yada yada...READ THE REVIEW HERE, PEOPLE. Credit to ianho

Then straight away to assembly.

(ref: themodbrothers.com) "The only other gripe that I had with the design is that the 7cm of space wasn’t quite enough for my (thick) DVI cables to easily bend – in fact, quite a bit of force was needed to get them in a position so that the top cover could close."

As for me, I didn't encounter any single hitch, use the proper hardware and your done.

Powder coating, mate. It's called "Special Chilli Red" to be exact.

BTW, can anybody send me a link to anyone selling L.E.D here in LYN. Couldn't find a shop selling red L.E.D here. Dang! I want to change the blue L.E.D from the top panel.

Haha..I plan to go with UV...but UV has to be turn off once a while. So, maybe normal 'bright' ccfl will do. As for the right interior...Just got my Asus 4890..but it has no light whatsoever. The OCZ ram cooler even lights up in blue. sweat.gif

Suggestions are welcomed..

very thick red coat .... hmmm ..

i must admit .. it's a really smooth painting .. but i'll be best if you use a very thin red coat with a thick clear coat ..

if i may suggest, get a drill with the car polishing drill bit ... (use wool) .. and some polishing compound ... it just takes around 5 min .. to buff it up and had a great mirror shine smile.gif
