if possible, the fan shud headed towards the rear but iinm from the pic, it's not possible cuz of ur RAMs.

so the other alternative is by blowing it up as hot air will flow upwards, cooler air aka intake from below or side to upper part n rear.

now fan blowing downwards is it? sweat.gif

follow wat Sib said, fan face downward
*
sweat.gif upward la dude, i mean the fan attached below the cooler wif blowing direction upwards.

if u faced it downward, the gc is going to get hotter, not to mention the ambient temp around inside sure go up...

After upgrade from Hyper 212 to V8, how much temperature reduction?
*
depends on the ambient, but roughly can be seen when on 100% load. 4~5'C i'd say.

on idle only 1~2'C diff. wink.gif

haven't tested on higher clocks tho. tongue.gif

@sib
so ur V8 thr no longer got red light alr after u chg thr fan??
*
of course there's alr no red light, i've changed it d... sweat.gif

more expensive doesn't mean it's better, example (again) sphere, price range almost the same wif hyper 212 but performance is totally diff. smile.gif

but V8 proves by reviews all over the web tat it's good n beat hyper 212, so i decided to use it. but it's actually for my next upgrade, for phenom II X4 955 BE. still funding...

great idea, putting oil inside the bearing. less friction, last longer.

ever thought of a fan spinning 1200~2000rpm + xtra oil will do? whistling.gif

some math, 20 000 ~ 50 000 hours roughly for a single fan = 2083 days = 5.7 yrs. i don't think all of us here will use the fan till tat period, rite?

wat we'll do is change n keep changing to a newer fan so i'd say self lubricating it is pointless, lol. tongue.gif

maybe can tahan longer, cz many of us din on PC 24/7
*
well, all fans manufactured had been lubricated n will stay in tat way unless it leaks via operation. i discovered yesterday while cleaning my fans tat few had greasy blades + dust of course.

but tat's not the point here, even if u put more oil or grease to the bearings, it will came to a point of breakdown somehow, maybe after u use it like 2~3yrs then it's relevant to put some grease or oil to help smooth things up.

jz dun pick the wrong grease or oil n dun overdo it, u'll get other probs if u do. smile.gif

Normally new fan is "self-lubrication", end-user shouldn't do anything to it.

Fan that need lubrication is when it is in the dying age (when it start making noise).

If you in doubts, try to ask your question in "Case Fan" thread http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/387771

p/s my 2 cents.

i've been trying to tell them earlier dude but they jz won't listen. whistling.gif

today while i go jalan2, bought another 90cfm blue fan + 4pin 12V extension cable... cool.gif

decided to change the 'additional' boring 1200rpm fan to 2000rpm instead laugh.gif

rerouting the cables n tis is the best i can do, can't achieve something like nidzamputra did tho, sad.... sad.gif

front view, up and running. smile.gif

i was hoping my proc's temp will go down but instead my GC drop 1~2'C... sweat.gif

but haven't tested on 100% tho.

now can challenge HAF's series? brows.gif

@Koki,

You can use Vizo Propeller, which I am using in my rig 1 to cool down my passive GC heatsink :-
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

p/s the Propeller blue LED is quite bright too.
*
iinm, the heatsink is facing upwards, if put vizo propeller, the gc will block the airflow directly to the heatsink.

will it cause bottleneck with low proc but wif high end GC? cos i read somewhere saying gc and proc is like apple and orange, different thing. so i think it will only cause bottleneck when running cpu intensive program which also required high GC. the graphic can be supported but ur cpu fail u.
*
there's an article n benchmarking done by goldfries in his site on bottlenecking between gc and proc. go check it out. wink.gif

damn, today my rear 90cfm fan can't spin properly no more. it rattles/wobble. suspect lack of grip at the screw joints. my advice to u all using tis fan to make sure to reduce the vibration cuz it surely vibrates like hell... sweat.gif

buy a new 1 d, my casing now is brighter than b4. doh.gif

RIP to my default hyper 212 fan here, too much force when handling it... doh.gif

user posted image

thinking of re-using it, buy a gam gajah d... whistling.gif

what for lubricate the broken bracket lmao.
but @Sib i think vibration grows stronger after this.. well keep us updated smile.gif
*
yea, i'm aware of the vibration can do to the 'glued' brackets. i'm thinking of using rubber from used or worn bladder acting as a dampener/washer

or

jz buy from garage sales here? tongue.gif
