what's different?
thanks

More pins that equals to higher FSB, cache etc. In English, Faster if compared apple to apple.

As for your mobo can support C2D or not, that depends on your motherboard specification. smile.gif

btw, i thought all lga775 can support c2d right?
-edited-

sorry ah, gotta ask, i 2.1 speakers set up. and i have a monitor with 2 internal speakers, do you think i can make it a 5.1 somehow?

i have a creative sb audiopci sound card.
*
I think I've seen some 775 socket mobo that only supports P4 and Pentium D.

As for your speaker part,
Your set up will be a 4.1, because it lacks a center speaker.
Plug in the monitor speaker plug into lime green and the independent speaker into black. If your sub has an independent plug (highly unlikely), then plug it into orange.

It still depends on personal preference.

For me, I still prefer nvidia for AGP cards but for PCI cards, my preference is shifting towards ATi since it brings more value.

However, nvidia AGP cards is getting rare now so if you want something high end, you'll have to look at the red side and abandon the green.

Are you planning to run as serverĀ  + storage?
*
Not a primary storage lah. My personal things like 18SX I'm keeping it in my current 500GB HDD. The 1TB storage is to store downloaded dramas and movies for my family to watch.
QUOTE(ravewar @ Oct 31 2009, 09:54 AM)
for the p4, just run raid0 laa....get 2 1tb hdds, stripe them..., IF 1tb is enough for you... tongue.gif
*
Erm... my 250GB partition gets full in about 1 and half month so... hmm.gif But then now is good dramas (CSI, NCIS, Mythbusters) season so after this season ends, I guess it'll take quite sometime to full so I think 1TB should be enough for now, period. Perhaps later when 4TB system out, then a 2TB will cost the same as a 1TB costs now. *Finger crossed* XD

I think I'll consider a 5.1 sound system now. But I am not taking those Edifier/Logitech/Altec Lansing one. I'm taking a proper wireless 5.1 channel surround system from my company. Wait for my company's annual staff auction first.

Oh, BTW, why I cannot downclock my processor one?
Wanna try downclock-ing. tongue.gif

Problem being is, I cant clock it lower than 2.4 now. sleep.gif
Especially when the mobo lacks oc features. sweat.gif

If combine 775 and 478/479 socket threads together, then there will be a long list of users in front. If this isn't a problem for raymond then i guess this idea is feasible.

oh, my bad.
I though its the general 775 population. So its only single core 775 population.
If so, then I approve. People who is still using P4, I salute.

Anyway, dillema
Dunno to choose between 808GB or 1TB HD. sad.gif

When calculated, 808GB gives better size to price ratio

and I saw DDR2 800MHz ram today. RM164 for a 2GB module. sweat.gif
Dunno the PC400 got increase a not coz it is written still 109 for a 1GB one.

nope, there actually is a 808GB hdd produced by WD. 808.8GB to be exact. Caviar Green version only.

Woot. Caviar Green. rclxms.gif
After much consideration, I've decide to buy it.... next month. tongue.gif

Then maybe change my current IDE 80GB to another 500GB perhaps. I can hear click click sound already and BitComet is taking much longer time to close because it always shows "Disk Busy. Please Wait".
