Hi guys,

I'm new user here. biggrin.gif  I just own this HTC HD recently. Just wonder any player can play all kind of file (.mkv;.avi;.rmvb;..h264;.mhd;.mp4 and etc ). I tried core player but it "LAGS" like hell rclxub.gif . I try Video converter v 1.21 ... It takes times inspite it's an alternative solution (I dunno how to add subtitle in it....).

The Core Player v 1.3.2 build 6909 on my HTC HD does not lag at all. I am using Dutty 3.3 ROM.

brows.gif No malice intended. You make it sound like a downgrade rclxub.gif Windows XP to Windows Vista is a downgrade whistling.gif
Perhaps like Windows XP to Windows 7 rclxm9.gif
Again no malice intended.

USPL or HSPL? IMO those whom have not yet flashed before, USPL is an easier way.
USPL>Stock ROM 1.57>USPL>Latest Cooked ROM,eg Dutty 3.3

USPL process is only a few second. biggrin.gif

*
Hard Reset will revert your device back to your current ROM (latest) but without any data or programs you have installed, ie. just like when you first got your phone.

means no matter how i have to backup my current rom first before doin any flashing
*
You don't have to backup. The current ROM is stored at the ROM of you device and cannot be accessed or removed unless you flash. Hard reset will only restore your current system with one that does not have any data and third party programs.

Hi guide me on flashing to dutti's cooked rom. My set is 1.54.0000 SPL.
*
How to Flash
You MUST read carefully, Basics and Other Flashing Tools

Dummies guide for flashing ROM and THIS

Download Dutty 3.3 ROM from here.

You need to download blac_uspl.exe which is the USPL program. This program usually comes with Dutty's ROM package. If you can't find it go to Dutty 2.8 ROM to get it.

Go thru the above three posts and you will be ready to flash. Make sure you fully understand the instructions before you proceed. Do not rush. wink.gif

Hi ,

Happy to hear that laugh.gif  Do you ever try to play a 800 x 480 file ?Mind to share out your setting ?
*
No, I have not tried 800X480 file.
I have gone thru 3 WM phones, 240x320, 240x400 and now 480x800. I have tried almost all the video commercial and freeware converters and to my surprise Pocket DivX Encoder can convert almost any video, hassle free. However the output video resolution size is limited. If you can live with that, then this converter is ideal. Since all WM phone screens are so small, the difference in the visual of the playback resolution is not noticeable.

Selecting a right video player is also as important. The Core Player v 1.3.2 build 6909 gives me hassle free play back, including flv files.

Pocket DivX Encoder and Core Player is an ideal pair rclxms.gif

Do you have tnyynt SD TuneUP.cab and ATI D3D driver installed?

I'm having a slight problem flashing to Dutty.
I'm gonna flash via SD card. Copied the .nbh file to the root directory of the SD card.
When I execute USPL, it shows no image file.
.nbh file in the wrong directory? It's in the root directory of the SD card. what else is wrong? pls advise.
I'm actually flashing to a HKCL stock ROM V1.57 before flashing to Dutty V3.3.
I've extracted the HKCL.exe file to obtain the .nbh file.

Added on May 9, 2009, 5:42 pmneed the SD card be totally empty?

Added on May 9, 2009, 6:56 pmno longer a problem.. managed to flash it via PC.
I'm now on Dutty V3.3 smile.gif
*
Just for future ref, you need to rename the .ndh file to BLACIMG.nbh. Only insert the SD card to the device just before you execute USPL. Yes, it is to be located at the root directory.

Program tab needs an installation. Cab can be downloaded from where you downloaded the ROM

Dutty ROM does NOT corrupt SD Card. However if your SD Card was partially corrupted earlier, after you flashed Dutty ROM based on 1.56 and above, there is a good chance that your SD Card might suddenly not be detectable after some time. Quite a number of reports in XDA. Before your PC also cannot recognize it, you can format the SD Card and the problem will go away. Read more at XDA tongue.gif

Anyway it is a good practice to backup up your SD Card regularly. wink.gif

The beta WM6.5 is still buggy therefore I have no interest in the cooked ROM based on it. I have only tried Dutty and am pleased with it. rclxms.gif
