Pato suffers fresh injury setback

AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato has suffered a new injury setback with the start of their Serie A challenge just four days away.
The Brazil international, 22, was restricted to just 11 league appearances for the runners-up last season due to a succession of leg injuries as he battled to stay off the treatment table
A statement on the club's official website read: "AC Milan can confirm that during training today [Wednesday], Alexandre Pato reported a problem with his left adductor muscle.
"There will be further medical examinations in the coming days to determine the extent of the damage."
The Rossoneri begin the new season with the visit of newly-promoted Sampdoria on Sunday.

I dont know what allegri was thinking subbed out robinho on early minutes of 2nd half.

Will Robinho have service or assists from his ex-teammate or new teammate?
Basically a one-dim player who play only a small part in City PL title win.

Or is Robinho on the way out?

Robinho already out for 1 month due to injury from 1st match... doh.gif

Yeah glad the club once again making a good signing & not free transfer type,i've been disapointed for the transfer goes so far.

De Jong already selected for tonight's match although only 1 day training preparation given. rolleyes.gif

With him,now Montolivo can play on 2 side midfield & have a freedom creativity playmaker.

With NDJ in City side I always dread that we are going for a draw (which happened most of the time). Without him last season City was winning games (Spurs and Sex in the City @ OT) easily and was table topping until he was reinserted back in the starting lineup. That's was a major knock I have with City selection with NDJ in the starting lineup.

Will Milan's side be retarded by the addition of this 'draw specialist' ?

Juventus did lift the trophy with a dreadful of draw games, why not? laugh.gif

btw most of physical type of DMF position will surely succeed in our formation system, for an example of another dutch such as Van Bommel and Muntari, both of them only came a mid season transfer but made a significant impact with the team.

Why not De Jong?I've believe in him. icon_rolleyes.gif

ps: Btw,for a 60+ capped & current Dutch international for $3.5M is a steal, aint im right? or did Galliani was right on spot? brows.gif

Goodluck on champions league group stage with scott sinclair & rodwell as replacement of him. thumbup.gif

Under Hughes with NDJ in the starting lineup we had 7 draws in a row. You know what happened to Hughes. He was history.
That's my notion of a draw specialist. rolleyes.gif

City fans are divided on him. 3.5m maybe a steal.
Good Luck to Milan too.
Cheers

P.S. Having problems with quotes.

Transfer ended. We only spend $ 11M this season mainly because of ffp rules & rejuvenating squad.

Player In :

Goalkeeper : Gabriel
Defender : Acerbi , Zapata
Midfield : Constant , Montolivo, Traore , De Jong
Forward : Pazzini , Bojan , M'Baye Niang

Disapointed with another failed return of Kaka but overall its a decent mercato compared to last season.

Milan played well for the first 10 minutes, but we conceded an avoidable goal. Lets hope 2 goals on 2nd half. Forza Milan!

AC Milan 2 - 0 Cagliari

QUOTE
Stephan El Shaarawy eased the pressure on AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri with a brace to beat Cagliari in Serie A tonight.

Remarkably, El Shaarawy's opener was the Rossoneri's first goal at the San Siro this season and his classy second strike sealed a first victory in front of the home faithful.

Cagliari enjoyed dominant spells but were made to pay for Mauricio Pinilla's profligacy, never really recovering from Daniele Conti's dismissal for an altercation with Giampaolo Pazzini.

El Shaarawy was first to fire a warning shot across the bows, dancing into Cagliari's penalty area only to let the ball run into the gloves of a grateful Michael Agazzi.

Conti and Victor Ibarbo then combined to send Pinilla through at the other end, the Chilean fluffing the chance before El Shaarawy inspired rapture among the home fans in the 15th minute.

The striker latched on to a defence-splitting pass from Riccardo Montolivo to spring the offside trap and slot the ball past a stranded Agazzi.

Pazzini, making his 250th appearance in Serie A, flashed a shot wide as Milan pushed for a second goal.

Ibarbo muscled his way into a shooting position at the other end, coolly controlling the ball but lashing it just wide of Abbiati's post.

But Milan should have doubled their lead just before the break.

El Shaarawy rifled Urby Emanuelson's corner against the crossbar with a quick-thinking Davide Astori cutting out Pazzini's header from the rebound.

Cagliari's players started the second half brightly, but Pinilla headed over two promising chances and skewed an even better opportunity wide from 15 yards.

Nevertheless, the visitors continued to press and Ibarbo nodded Conti's free-kick agonisingly wide of a post in the 62nd minute.

But Conti saw red for two moments of madness, first poking Pazzini's cheek in a tussle on the halfway line, before elbowing the Milan man to earn two rapid yellow cards and his marching orders.

Substitute Massimo Ambrosini belied his 35 years to inject fresh life into Milan's attack and the veteran midfielder played a crucial role in El Shaarawy's second goal.

The home crowd were in full voice as the young striker seized on Ambrosini's neat pass to clip beyond Agazzi's reach once again.

Abbiati had to scramble across his goal to keep out substitute Nene's swerving strike but Milan had delivered a long-awaited home victory.
