pokai is already a word registered in BM, borrowed from cantonese. the meaning differs slightly from the original word, as been described numerous time already.

if u plan to use it in BM, then it will carry the BM meaning - running out of money. u cant really use it in other context, despite certain usage such as "pokai idea". the correct usage would be "ketandusan idea" or "kehabisan idea".

but if u use it in other language, it will carry its original meaning.

why is borrowing or copying words from other language such a big deal?

language belongs to the speaker. if more people speak a particular language, wouldnt it be cool?

european languages are rooted to latin. bahasa is rooted to sanskrit. language EVOLVES. get over it.
