It appears some users are having wifi issues. Try a "Reset Network Settings" Also, this just enables custom MobileConfig files. To fully enable tethering, go here on your iPhone and download a MobileConfig file for your carrier. Watch out for carrier fees for tethering.

Does that means that Dev team had been knock out? Geohot is really talented..He alone can move ahead of the entire Dev team..

Remember when Geohot left Dev team.. They will enemy... Some pin point from both party regarding their respective JB tools in term of JB method used n their vulnerability ... But, recently they seem to be friend again where both party pay their respect on each others.. This is what we would like to see..

If you really desperate.. Try to use your 3G or EDGE.. You can activate the day pass from Maxis at RM8/day with 500MB download limit..

The Tethered is ONLY appy if you are owning the new 3GS with updated bootroom ver..

That is the only JB solution available for now.. As your bootroom is new & no vulnerability being exploit yet...

Many Sifu here.. don't panic. Just restore back the original fimware by pressing SHIFT+ restore & make sure your notebook is connected to internet. After that, run blackra1n again for JB...I strongly believe u are using Maxis set..

openssh is install on iphone not your PC.. Installed it from Cydia.. Then only it open up your iphone for SSH connection..

Are you on 3GS or 3G? If 3G, then go ahead.. All you need to do is JB and Itunes will activated your phone for you.. If you are 3GS, be caution.. As, if your bootroom is with NEWEST ver.. Then, it only support theater JB.. Means, if you phone is restarted.. U can't use it and need to plug to notebook n run Blackra1n again..

Then, u need to check your BOOTROM ver leh...or When, u get your 3GS? because, earlier batch 3GS is with the iboot 359.3

Good question....I am trying to find a link/guide for me.. It is something like this

PUT You iphone in recovery mode.. PRESS HOME & POWER button for 10 second.. then, release your power button while keep holding the home button.
Then, Windows will detect new hardware found.. Got to Windows Device Manager...from there.. Can't remember exactly.... Wait.. still looking for the link for u..

Put your iPhone into DFU mode (how to/tutorial for this step at iClarified).

Then go to Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager on your Windows machine.

Look for 'Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller', you will find 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver' as a subitem there.

Right Click and choose 'Properties', navigate to 'Details' tab and select Device Instance Path from the dropdown list box. At the end of this information string you will find the bootrom version, e.g. [iBoot-359.x].

How to put your iPhone in recovery mode :

1. Turn the device completely off and disconnect it from cable/dock.
2. Hold down the home button.
3. While holding down the home button connect to a computer with a cable (easiest) or dock.
4. Keep holding down the home button until you see a connect-to-itunes screen You are now in recovery mode.

To escape Recovery Mode and power the phone off simply hold down power and home buttons for ten seconds.

How to put your iPhone in DFU mode :

1. Connect your iPhone to your computer.
2. Turn iPhone off.
3. Hold power and home together for 10 seconds (exactly).
4. Release power but keep holding home until the computers beeps (observed on a PC) as a USB device is recognized.
5. A few seconds later iTunes should detect your iPhone.
6. If the Restore Logo is present on the screen, you are in Recovery Mode, not DFU.
