I called the Customer Service and they checked and apparently they have no stock for Blackberry Bold. In KLCC centre, they were out of units too. Sigh. So I am waiting because I do not want to get Celcom's because got the "Vodafone" logo.

Maybe I should call Gardens' Maxis.
*
Why so particular about the tattoo?
It is merely a minor wording. The hardware and software run exactly the same.
Bold are aplenty from many shop with 12 months AP warranty.

But, that is just my 2 cents. Because in the end, is your money. smile.gif

i wonder why my bold application memory free space always <= 20mb ???? how to free it ?
*
For Bold, a lot of user complaining less ram. That is because it had 128mb of RAM memory only whilst Curve 8900 or Tour had 256 RAM memory.

To free up memory, I use a app called bbmem by "run garbage collector"
It is a paid app but now on sale for USD0.99
Product link: http://www.mobihand.com/product.asp?id=35468&n=BBMem

There is also some similar app that are free of charge. Maybe someone can let raymondha know. smile.gif

For prepaid, I think it didnt include browsing internet. Solely for IM, Social Networking and etc.

To get your device PIN, go to Option --> Status --> PIN. PM me your 8 digits number/alphabet

My best advise: "Go get a BIS package for god sake!"

hi, im interested to know about blackberry. I have absolutely no experience in this and i need your help.

I don't really understand how the service+data packages work for blackberry. Must I purchase official blackberry services from celcom/maxis/digi to use it?

I'm currently on a normal maxis with 500mb data plan, so if i simply went out to buy a blackberry on the market and put my sim card in, will i be able to use its things like web browsers using my 500mb data? Or maybe the phone won't work without official data/service packages?
*
To TS and ALL,
Pls remember this golden rule: "A BB without BIS/BES plan is a useless phone"

FOr your case, U can surf using 3rd party browser like bold and operamini.
Other main feature like IM (MSN, Y!M, ICQ, Google talk, AIM), Social networking (Facebook, Flickr, MySpace and etc), BB Messenger, Push Email, GoogleMap and etc will not work properly.

SO the answer is YES, U need BIS from celcom/maxis/digi for u to enjoy the BB features and not just a phone with limited function (ala RM300 China phone)

Your BDM havent update yet.
Go to Help --> Check for update, to download latest patch

But I heard some Tour users dont have this appear in their BDM. Are U using TOUR?

Will try to update...btw it prompts me to update everytime I open BDM. Oh yea..is there a way to edit my phonebook on my desktop?

Use MS Outlook or other PIM client to manage your contact.

BB also support Google Contact Sync, maybe U can try use that as well.

Hi all.

currently i'm taking vacation in jakarta, indonesia. last week, i bought legally a blackberry 8520 (a.k.a GEMINI) here.

for good, ive been using a local provider to activate the BIS connection. its been running smoothly n i havent got any problem so far.

next week, im going back to malaysia because im pursuing my degree title in UKM.

what i am trying to ask, do i need to release the blackberry PIN when i change to malaysian SIM card provider (im planning to activate the BIS in malaysia later) ? or it will just change automatically ?

thanks in advance  smile.gif
*
U should.
Without release the pin from previous telco, U will be unable to set up push mail on your existing telco.

After U terminate the Indonesia telco, just call them up and said U already terminate the BIS service with them. Request them to release your Device PIN.

Aha. it's still in small caps. So is this the same reason why I didn't see the option to add an email?

Actually, I can do something, I have had actually browsed a few pages, but my 1 month balance now is around 2 RM which was supposed to be around 50 i think.  cry.gif
*
That is because u are using the telco data serivce. Not BIS.

is it possible to get my blackberry settings (service books, apn ..etc) online, or do i need to go to a maxis centre... hehe noob here, just bought me a bold 9700, already activated the BIS, but dont have time to wait the maxis staff to do settings for me, she said can do online but i dunno how..
*
Service book normally auto configure once U put in yr simcard with activated BIS service.

If U want to re-send yr service book. U can set it on yr BB device.

Under "setup Folder" --> Press Menu button -->Scroll down and select "Service book" ---> Choose "send Service Book"
