Hi, all. Am looking at installing shower screen for my rental unit. For safety and economic reasons, I rather go for polystyrene panel instead of tempered glass. Just a one-side installation. i.e. not a wrap-around design. Any idea on cost and recommendation of supplier / installer ? Thanks in advance.

hmmm...cant seem to find any topic on shower screen here bein actively discussed. is it bcoz shower screen is not that popular still?

anyways, am lookin for opinion as to whether slide screen is better or swing screen is better. which one is less likely to wear & tear & give way?

im more incline to use slide, but have heard a couple of ppl commentin that the slide mechanism always jam.

still not sure.......

also, side track a lil, is it better to built a drop or raise up (one brick-size) at the shower screen area (this is to segregate the dry toilet from the wet toilet). the installer suggested drop, but i wan LYN forumers expert advise on this...

Hi, why don't you go for tempered glass for your bathroom shower screen? i am from this industry, if you are interested, i can offer you a best price which i believe you can't get it outside.

Thank you

Recently saw the shower screen at some bathroom accessories shop, got alot of pattern ler.....if not wrong one of them is at Kajang--Saujana impian i think.....around the area with McDonald which is further from the TESCO Kajang. The shop name is DeBathe.
If not wrong RM400+ include installation (forget the size/ material), but must have the floor divider.

haha..kath, sort of late to see this post of yours... I wud go for sunken or drop for the shower area for aesthetics reason(is personal of course).. raise up is sort of dated to me although i'm nearly into my midlife crisis.. biggrin.gif

Sometime just found the edges of shower screen is too difficult to wash/ clean.....can see black things at edge after sometimes....so decide not to install. Unless i plan to have MAID in future, haha....i am super lazy person.

Also, if toilet too small, shower screen will take most of the space..tongue.gif

ya la, permanent type (tempered glass) shower screen is good for big bathroom contra to temporary type (poly sheet).

But i prefer not use it at all because it give me more 'freedom'

frameless shower screen will only take up 10mm off your 3x3 shower area and it helps to give you a dry/wet area in the bathroom.... it is a 'why not' for me.. smile.gif

I am also thinking whether to go for a sliding or swing shower screen.
For sliding, the edge of the screen can be diffcult to clean since it's enclosed in aluminium frame
while I heard the joint can get loosen easily for the swing shower design.

Which one is better in terms of ease of maintenance?

i have sliding. but planning to go for swing. made some comparison, swing has more accessible parts, therefore can clean more easily. i esp hate the silicon bit, where it alwiz turn black.

Mind to explain more on the silicon part? Is the silicon used to stick the glass to the aluminium frame?
