The Korean 220v adapter is alright with our Malaysian 240v, cause the voltages accepted is usually 220v - 240v, and our Malaysia electricity hovers at around averagely 230v.

There's no need to use a poorly made 3rd party adapter.
Use the Original one~! thumbup.gif

Most electronics have a 10% tolerance. If Korea is 220v, then tolerance is 220v+/-10%=between ~198v-242v. Malaysia is 230v. And it's a misinformation that Malaysia is 60Hz, Malaysia is actually 50Hz (that's why the country's official TV standard is PAL tongue.gif). So the adapter will have no problem running here. Maybe you'll only need an socket converter, that's all. But the adapter will work fine with Malaysia power.

thx very much for the replies...n sorry that i made a mistake on the frequency for the adapter....the korea adapter is 220V 60Hz n malaysia is 240V 50Hz...since the voltage should not be any problem...but how abt the frequency???the info i found as below...but still abit confuse on it...

link : http://wikitravel.org/en/Electrical_systems

quote from the site <<<However, you still may need to be careful if you have a sensitive and/or expensive device that converts AC (power from the wall) into DC (battery-like current) - especially if you also need to convert the voltage. A device will convert AC to DC to either : 1) save battery power by allowing you to plug into the mains or 2) to charge a battery in the device. The design of power supplies where AC is converted into DC does take frequency into account.>>>

hope someone can confirm whether it can be used or not???thx alot...

I assure you, that it can work..
If it doesn't work, it would've exploded when you plugged it in the 1st time.

I didn't know you were concern about the frequency,
but to assure you again..
Most if not all 220-240v adapters supports 50/60hz AC electric.

I forgot to mention, that even if the the 50/60hz frequency matters, it only matters to sensitive Lab equipments/machinery. tongue.gif
And the Wii is not designed as a sensitive equipment, its a gaming console for a normal non-professional home. whistling.gif

My Wii adapter says 120v 60Hz, and my stepdown only reduces power, and doesn't touch the alternation frequency. So output from my stepdown is 110v 50Hz (yes, 110v. 10v below the Wii's 120v rating). And the Wii still works like a charm. So I'd say you will most likely not have a problem with a Korean adapter plugged in direct to a Malaysian power supply.
