i still wonder.. (i) is that HOB filter can put bacter ball ? (ii) is that okay topping up water with branded filtered water ? like im topping up water with Amway filtered water.. so i dont need to use Anti-Chlorine ? (iii) after absorbed small portions of water... i can straight put the pipe into the tank and fill up with pipe water... then only i add the anti-chlorine ? thanks you chuppy kor.. willing to be patient for guiding newbie.. thanks you... |

QUOTE(chuppy2 @ Oct 16 2009, 08:30 AM) your lighting seems okay . I'd upgrade the c02 to pressurized though.. alright... so what i need is just the brown ball ? and just leave it in filter or tank.. no problem on cleaning my filter ? because i will clean once a week.. and the bacter ball... no need use with the bacter powder ? thanks you...About the bacter ball, google it. It actually is a brown ball. throw it into your filter or tank, it'll turn into mush after a few hours. What I emant about water chemistry is that you should have very low or no ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. and temperature below 28C... QUOTE(chuppy2 @ Oct 16 2009, 12:52 PM) @fongzai, i see.. i wll take a look at sunwaymas 88 later... but what about if my filter turned to very dirty ? just ignore it ?The ball and the power is the same thing, and Don't clean your filter so often.. you literally kill the beneficial bacteria.. Clean also clean with old tank water.. not tap water.. Drew QUOTE(ching4ever @ Oct 16 2009, 12:53 PM) If you can afford, I would suggest, about the eheim 2211 i think will get it after holiday works.. pressurized co2 too expensive and not really can affort.. Eheim 2211 with JBL/Eheim/ADA bio filter material Pressure CO2 + Eletronic regulator PH, Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite test kit Also, try not to over feed the fish, feed them once a week will be enough, I don't feed the fish in my tank, the light attract bugs and they just eat the bug that fall into water. Filter, I wash it once a month or two only, not every week. |

QUOTE(chuppy2 @ Oct 16 2009, 02:19 PM) @ching, nah, it's just my bad habit of over filtration.. clean with tap water... Anyhows, @fong, Even if it is dirty, don't clean too often.. beneficial bacteria won't have enough time to grow.. And you clean with tap water or old tank water? Drew i just bought it at 88 sunwaymas.. wow.. i saw lot of cockroaches.. because they are cleaning the fishes area... gelii..... rm4.20 each ![]() what to do now ? just leave it in my tank ? and 2 black algae eater.. rm1.5 each.. quite hardworking man.. start to suck at the woods and stones.. not bad not bad~ This post has been edited by fongzai92: Oct 16 2009, 03:10 PM |

QUOTE(chuppy2 @ Oct 17 2009, 01:05 PM) @fongzai. yes... looking for low maintenance tank.. now the bacter ball became orange colour sand.. Having ADA soil doesnt mean = high tech.. It's basically what plants you keep and how you keep it... What you're looking for maybe it's a Low maintenance tank.. Also, I said that coz you mentioned you want to start a new low tech set-up? IMHO, improve on your current one first. Multiple tank syndrome is common.. and maintaining more than 2 tanks can be a pain at times. Drew can i change water the next day i put the bacter ball ? or maybe delay to next week better ? because normally i will do it every saturday.. no la.. i mean do some little improvement for this currenty 1ft tank... i see... any method to let my moss grow faster than stick to the wood ? because most of them are not likely to stick to the wood instead float on water..
