Hi all,

I have some questions regarding a property i bought last year, i'm the 3rd owner and everything has been completed. Now the questions is the electric bills, water bills, indah water, assessment and quit rent bills is still under the 1st/2nd owner name. Are we suppose to go to change the owner name ourselves? Where can i head to for to do all this?

Btw my property is in Cheras Perdana

Thanks

for electricity and water, it is up to you whether you want to change, but beware, if the previous owner decides to go take back his deposit, your electricity will get cut. therefore, always safer to go change name - get your deposit ready though. for tnb you can see which kedai tenaga is listed on your bill. give them a call and find out what documents you need to bring along. usually s&p, i.c and previous bill only. water better you call them and give the account no. on your billing.

assessment you must go to dbkl and fill up the form. need s&p also. but as long as the assessment is being sent to the current house, not really necessary to change name.

quit rent will automatically change once the title is in your name. if it doesnt, contact the land office.

iwk, just give them a call on their toll free number to find out the procedure - but once agian, so long as the bills are being sent to your house, not really necessary.

I have just done the running around to TNB for change of name.

Note : You will need 1) a photocopy of the S&P which is to be retained by TNB 2) a photocopy of your identity card 3) original TNB bill 4) M$10 stamp.

You can only do the change of name at the TNB office stated on your bill !!!

just another question, if i didnt change the names is there anything going to happen?

In our case, vendor's lawyer contacted our lawyer relaying his intention to close the account and get back his initial deposit. We are grateful for his courtesy in informing us as he has every right to just close the account without telling us, resulting in a sudden disruption in electricity supply for us / our tenants. Mind you, the S&P concerned was concluded more than 3 years ago.

Nope, it is ONE x M$10 stamp duty - which you can pay by cash should you turn up without it.

I just did another change of name for Tenaga today. smile.gif

Re : runner. Not sure as I personally handle all such affairs. You do need to sign the application form.

It is 1xRM10 stamp hasil (not the normal stamp that you put on the envelope). I just did my transfer last week. The one that paid RM20, I think you've been conned.

which tnb branch did you go? i went to the jalan selangor, pj. according to the lawyer, also 2 setem hasil; then....when filling up the form, also stated in the form 2 setem hasil...

anyway, whether one or two.....the tnb can get for you, no need for you to purposely get it.....(in the said branch)

I went to the one at bangi. Maybe is 2x setem for condo and 1x setem for terrace, not sure but the form that I fill in stated 1x setem. The tnb I went doesn't have the setem but luckily there is a POS nearby so I went to buy myself.
