i think hiddink will use same tactic when we defeat fulham last saturday :

------------------CHECH--------------------------

-----------------ALEX------------TERRY-----------------

--BOSINGWA----------------------------A.COLE-------

-------------------MIKEL--------ESSIEN----------------

------LAMPARD--------------------------MALOUDA----

-----------------ANELKA --------DROGBA--------------

@plokoon

Bro, Im sorry I didnt thank you for the effort to make my suggestion come true... really nice stats.. Thank you!

Top 5 Chelsea Scorers 08/09(Overall) *Last updated: 03/05/2009*

1 Nicolas Anelka 22 goals
2 Frank Lampard 19 goals
3 Didier Drogba 13 goals
4 Salomon Kalou 10 goals
5 Florent Malouda 7 goals

Nice to see Drogba climbing up right after he revived from injuries, yeah it was slow, but still 3rd compared to Kalou and Malouda who plays constantly wink.gif good job I must say.

On the other hand, the lineup by ecchan is pretty good, if Anelka continues to play jz like how he did VS Fulham, we can really wreck our opponent, be it counter attack(sad to admit that it isnt the best in the world) or attack through possessions, but Lampard as RW? but very defensive I must say..and if it happens, I bet Mikel/Essien gona get booked due to their physical power to stop Barca's attack =x

wow didn't realise anelka has amassed 22 goals in total. that's a very good tally. and kalou has gotten 10 goals from the wings too. that's above average in my opinion. especially considering he doesn't start too often. flex.gif krovax i think mikel and essien will know how to handle themselves at the bridge. they will be aggressive and tough, but fair. they managed to avoid bookings at the nou camp, i don't see why they shouldn't be able to do the same at the bridge. unless we get an idiot ref who insists on indulging barca in all their theatrics. could well happen but i'm hoping against hope that it won't. that will surely ruin the game. meanwhile it looks like henry will be missing for the clash. one less lethal threat to worry about. however i'm convinced gudjohnsen or bojan can do a more than decent job for them.

eh now that u mentioned it, both Bison and Bison jr had not get booked in the 1st leg... true yeah..

so, say.. what really stops Barca attacking power?

bison junior! hoho he'd make a good bison jr i agree. tongue.gif
what really stops their attacking threat? a hardworking team which denies them space and gets in their faces will do just fine i think.
but if someone pulls something special, i.e: going on a mazy run and nutmegging 3,4 players on the way then its going to be tough to protect cech.
we need to be practical and keep the defense tight while retaining possession better. going forward strength and speed will be just as important.
i'm banking on the front three for that. i still remember the way we blitzed them 3-0 in ten minutes during 2005. now that was something special!

hmmm..

But Messi and Iniesta always do that =(

...

so Marquez and Puyol are out, leaves who as their CB?

Added on May 4, 2009, 8:37 pmhmm..from my noob assumption, its gona be Milito and Caceres?

u left out pique! its probably going to be him and caceres. or abidal gets pulled to the center, and keita goes to the left. now we're probably thankful for being blessed with so many world class centerbacks. smile.gif

Welcome bro. Thank you for your great suggestion. smile.gif

Added on May 4, 2009, 9:17 pmI'm with Kerpy on Barca's makeshift centre back combo. Pique and Caceres (most likely) since Milito is injured. Another possible likelihood is Pique and Yaya (though he only played there just once).

Oh ya, I read that Didi's son's name is Kieran Drogba!

To go to Rome, we have to defeat Barca.
Let's just focus our mind to this game first.
My line-up for the game against Barcelona.
------------------------------------------------------------------Cech---------------------------------------------------------------
-------Bosingwa------------------------Terry----------------------------------Alex-------------------------Ashley Cole--------
---------------------------------------------------------------Essien-----------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------Ballack----------------------------------------Lampard----------------------------------
------------------------------Anelka----------------------------------------------------------Malouda-----------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------Drogba------------------------------------------------------------------

To play it safe or to attack from the first minute?????
Let's hope the guys can get an early goal to distract Barca's mentality.
Pace is everything in this game. We do have the physical strength to match them!

from my opinion anelka's best position is on Center Forward....better put kalou on right...he is much useful than the Frenchmen.

we need a performance like this. minus the conceded goals would be nice. biggrin.gif
probably one of the best examples of counter-attacking play you'll ever see in your life. smile.gif
