dvd drive i think dun hv loose. Bout unplug, mine screen will become darker a bit only. wont black like urs. but i dunno why will like that 1. dunno we can set it or not. Anyone here know?

hi! i just got myself an s-series lappy. i have thre questions to ask here:

i) is there any silicon keyboard protector for the s-series like the one used apple mac?
ii) do i need to install a software to monitor the laptop's temperature/ heat level?
iii) if i want to upgrade the present 4gb ram to say 6gb or even 8gb, which ram should i go for?

hope someone can help me to answer these questions.

hi there, i was thinking to buy the Sony VPCZ117GG/X, but currently there is no stock yet, so is it okay for me to go ahead with VPCZ116GG/B?

but the problem is, those are the thing i concern.. 
but there is another thing which i most concern is, it didn't come with Blu Ray Drive, this makes me dilemma for a Price and Spec like that, without Blu Ray Drive, what a waste la..

hye guys..just bought the pink vaio  CW25 series, da one with i3 proc,for my sis around 2 weeks..
after bought it ,preinstall it at shop and all.ok n came home.try to on it at home, it wont turn on.however .the power indicator , lit da one wif green lite aite?
i dont turn on even i plug out the battery ony using cord, plug in da battery pack again, leaving it at hour or so again..
it dun turn on.
feeling furious , i took the laptop n go back to the shop again (digital mall)
  .when the sales person plug it .n push the button .its on.
seriously its on.
i trying to off and on again numerous time
using ony battery n ony cord again it can turn on.seriously feel paiseh.so paiseh.

after that , my sis going to outstation for a week, n nobody use her laptop after thatshe came back yesterday.Last night it can be use perfectly.

n yet this morning same thing happen again.it wont even turn off

this is what i have done to turn it on

1)press the button on. the green indicator lit.
  if i put the battery pack with adapter when i pressing button ON, the green indicator n the battery indicator lit
    if i plug the adapter without battery pack , when i pressing button ON ony the power indictor light green
      if i use ony battery pack without adapter ,when i pressing button ON ony the power indictor light green oso

2) i had plug out the battery pack n adapter . n leave it .after 5 minutes i try to on it still wont turn on.

3) i plug the battery pack, n leave it around an hour ,try to on , still wont

4)n now i try to plug out the battery pack n try to leave it for an hour,if still cant .im officially hate the sony vaio so much.this is the first time i had this kind of problem with vaio, b4 this heating problem with older vaio, the batch problem. i thought it jus minor problem n continue to suggest numerous ppl to buy sony vaio , because it the best even pricey a bit. already call customer service n ask technical assistance. they ask me to go to their place for a checking. damn.someone who had similar prob?please help.

Is the first charge 10 hours enough?

forgot to state.it already been charge around 9 hours afta bought 
thought that oso, but all other appliances which using the wall plug, can be use normally.
i think the shop stated can claim one on one within 7 days.
weirdly, the vaio can be use right now, after left off half a day.if i want to claim ,how do i need to tell the problem?
since it can be use right away at their shop? 
im going to go northpoint tomorrow for checking ,i search around google wif same prob n same spec, there someone post about it , but there no solution given.

didn't realise that Z115 doesn't come with optical drive.. but previous model with optical drive also about 1.4kg... wonder what they put inside the empty slot..

There is nothing there, just an empty space. You can see the metal (some kind of metal chassis) thru the air vent. The slot is covered nicely with a blank plate. Been thinking to find the part and put it inside there but have to wait till the warranty period over and if I could find the original drive.

Just bought VPCZ115GG, the cheapest Z series. Funny part is.... this model does not come with optical drive  duhhhh Maybe they wanted to keep this model to 1.4kg limit and sub 6K notebook. Next model which has it (116) is about 1.7K more which has less storage size but faster (SSD + RAID), extra 2GB RAM and optical drive.

I've been looking for external slim DVDRW. Sony has it but in specification page it requires AC adapter. Anybody can suggest other brand which is USB powered? I still like Sony (coz of matching brand  ) but carrying two AC adapters will contribute to overall carrying weight and the hassle to find power point just to use the optical.

Does anyone know how to change the special button such as "VAIO" for our own setting? Seem like CW2X above model do not have such function as what cw1x model did >.<

OK, my result as below
- Yesterday 12/04/2010 fully charged 100% at 11pm.
- Today 13/04/2010 12:30pm boot from Stamina Mode, checked 98%. Loss 2% when the battery detach/attach from the system.
- Now 13/04/2010 11:45pm boot from Stamina Mode, checked 96%. Loss another 2% when the battery detach/attach from the system.

My system conclusion - even detach from the system, it will loss 4% per day, is that all the notebook is same ? Or the windows battery meter is inaccurate ? 
Or perhaps I do not notice on others notebook ?
