the sony malaysia website is up to date, just sonystyle website lagging behind. you can view the Y, F and refresh CW too. the Z however remain unknown for its price, perhaps following the pre-sale price. smile.gif

expesinve for VPCS117GG/B ... RM 5299 ???
compare with HK&9980.... = RM   4,422.92......
*
you cant compare direct like that. the price varies due to one of these factors:
1. tax
2. import/packaging/shipping cost
3. living cost

for example, the same spec / or worst low spec VAIO cost abit/much expensive in UK with the one sell in Malaysia.

if you still fuss about the price, you can buy from HK, but bare in mind, not all VAIO lineup offer International Warranty, and apart from that, the International Warranty have short duration if compare to local official Sony or distributer other warranty (e.g: Best Denki, Harvey Norman)

edit: typo.

duno if i should give it a check..later the sony ppl dont want layan or give me the look susah also...something so small also want to complain hahahah!  when i hit the space bar using left hand its ok..only when its on my right hand then squeaks bit lo..
*
is this only occurred to your notebook only? best if you visit a store that sell S and try to see in the highest level of brightness. try to get a picture how bright it should be.
hope its not LED backlight faulty.

quick question,

would the screen will be as nice if i apply protective sticker on it?

Added on February 10, 2010, 6:45 pmjust wanna share some of the stuff i experience..

dont really like the brightness when in the dark ( even tho max )(sometimes can just dim or brigthen itself..kinda annoying )

space bar squeaks

battery kinda lose? i push it can hear like lose sound...

low speaker for me? and i dont usually blast my speaker

on win 7 how to move the show desktop to the left instead of the right side?
*
the brightness when in dark? you mean the screen with black colour?
no comment on battery lose on the new series, tho sony had this issue on their previous serious. as long as its not coming out by itself, it should fine. lock it.
and for speaker, its soft, and agree speaker on VAIO not really great. but SonicStage that come with VAIO is awesome *to me*.

and to me, screen protector not compulsory. so far using, i have none scratch provided that i use the notebook properly.

i cant help since i dont have this feature , old Z :/
anyway, my wild guess it has something to do with VAIO Control Centre and perhaps the Graphic Option Menu at Control Panel (NVIDIA Settting).

same for my new baby s series! i dont personally listen to loud songs.but this sony is really soft for me

im surprised that you have to rely with notebook speaker. its soft because the speaker is tiny and no bass whatsoever. see how slim the notebook is :/
if you really care about the notebook speaker, you should've get a toshiba. they have pretty decent notebook speaker. my friend using one, i can say its superb.

cant really tweak a maximum volume. but you can give a try to SonicStage Audio Filter.

Even though your laptop speaker is that good, you (or at least me) shouldn't appreciate the beauty of musics and movies with just listening them with just the laptop speakers.

Buy a good pair of a speakers or headphone.

Just my opinion.
*
Agree completely with maxizanc point of view

Here is what currently im using besides the external speakers:

Hullo guys and girls! Don;t know whether this is appropriate to ask here but I am planning to get a CW26 but before I buy I wanna ask how good is VAIO/SONY's after-sales, i.e. warranty, maintenance?

Haha, cause if their after-sales isn't that good I may wanna opt for a DELL or otherwise. Advice please. Thanks much!  biggrin.gif
*
so far been using VAIO, i never have bad experienced with Sony Service Centre. Havent claim my warranty since notebook working well, no fault. the only time i have to go to Service Centre is when im buying some obsolete stuff for some old VAIO series, e.g: battery pack.
Warranty is pretty much abit expensive tho, but some official distributor even offer their own warranty (e.g: Harvey Norman, Best Denki)

the major difference between Sony and DELL, Sony doesnt offer the off-site support for their product for VAIO, unlike DELL.
anyway, if warranty is your main concern, go for DELL. they have complete cover warranty for your peace of mind.

You bought from one Utama Sony Centre or One Utama Best Denki? Check again.

or;

That's the magic of business. There could be trillion of shops with different names on different location but in the end, it was all tied up together by a company. That's how the electronic sector earns its money.
*
its Sony Centre run by Best Denki. Nothing wrong buying there, the 5 years warranty perhaps from them? or 3 years from sony + 2 years from them. gotta check the receipt of the warranty.
at OU, Best Denki have like 2 shop, one is Sony Centre and the other of course Best Denki if i can recall.

can i say Z? lol jk.
anyway, my old school C series still works, so yeah.

none, the cs was faulty due to parts they use. its the same to the TZ series which has heat issue earlier due to wiring faulty.
i can say the prob was unpredictable. and worry not, the probability to have defect notebook is real low.

just a recommendation,
to all CS users here, go claim the warranty for the fan issues. srsly, the fan issue should be solve by now, just like how they fix the TZ issue earlier..

not using the wrap to my Z, just the keyboard protector..
