I hope so, I don't own one but I think every phone/platform should have a sweet App Store. It's always been a b**** to get programs on the devices Apple nailed it just right I hope all the planned stores, Microsoft/Rim/Palm all turn out great. Just hope they don't try to screw developers, there's lots of money to be made in this business and in today's economy new business ideas are quite valuable.

'Confirmed' Zune HD specs hit the Global'

Zune HD rumors have been doing the rounds over the last few days, with a ton of speculation regarding the device’s features and leaked pictures showing an iPod touch lookalike. But while Microsoft has yet to mention any details regarding their new portable media player, other than that updated hardware is coming later this year, Neowin reports that it can actually confirm some of its specs.
Citing unnamed sources within the company, Neowin claims the Zune HD will sport a 3.6-inch multi touch OLED display and an HDMI connection on the side to stream content directly to TVs. Nvidia’s Tegra graphics chip for mobile devices will be powering the new Zune, which will come in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, and 120GB versions. Other features include an HD Radio, support for wireless connectivity and a web browser.

The Zune platform is also being completely overhauled and further unconfirmed rumors suggest the updated device would even support “3D Xbox Games,” but it is unclear what form this will take – perhaps XBLA titles? We’ll have to wait for an official announcement, but if rumors hold true, Microsoft could have a much more competitive device in its hands this time around.

You bet. There's a similar topic at Audiophile section as well, but i don't think this zune's touch screen sensitivity will be as good as iPod touch one. As for SQ, no doubt Zune will beat iPod touch. Anyway, Apple MIGHT release new iPod touch "Soon" so we'll see how they're going to upgrade it this time

even a iPhone/itouch gaming on a slim device they support completely well with highest setting & u saw those texture quality,anti-aliasing, shadow effect does those device overheat esily......??

i bet u never own before iPod LOL at u......... itouch can stand for more 2week without using of it. Playing game at lease 8-10 hour fully charge. Surfing 12-14 hour.

Windows Mobile just ON-Wi-Fi for 2-3 hour no more juice ......

hmm..do u mean for Iphone 3g or Ipod Touch?

i'd be really surpirised if they can match the touch's web browsing. but everything else is just simply mind blowing. depending on the price, this really might kill ipod touch.

then again, ipod touch was develped years ago (2g was barely an improvement). can't compare with the latest gadget

but the matter is when, and why ipod is so popular is becasue of the apple brand. i got one ipod touch, and i like it.
graphics are secondary for me, gamings are secondary for me. seriously, it you want proper gaming device, get a psp. an ipod touch is a device which is so portable for you to spend your time .

bro...that kinda stretching it.depends on game,some can only be played for 1 to 2 hours.like from mine experienced,after 3 hours of listening to music,playing field runner for 40 minutes can drain my bat down to almost 50%.

Its normal. Sony PSP started this whole new 3D-gaming on the go. Then Apple joined the team with iPod Touch trying to get developers like Gameloft , etc to come up with cool looking application for Touch and iPhone. It grew so popular that iPhone/iPod Touch turned into a gaming device. Then we do have DS and other stuff

I'll just wait and see , these days a lot of people are entering the market and trying to be the best. I am just hoping for the browser to be good as Safari or better. So far Safari kicks just about any other browser out there for mobile phones and PDAs

btw, if u choose Zune HD as your portable multimedia-player. For surfing purposes i thinks non of it can do more or on par with Safari browser.

For gaming guarantee Zune HD perform the job.

Most people think Safari is impressive but Opera Mobile on a proper RAM-laden system beats it to pulp with mutlple tabs, flash and NO CRASHES at all.

anyhow , Opera Mobile isn't that impressive. I've it in my WM device. It hogs soo much of RAM that the entire system comes to a halt. Sorry to say that. Opera Mobile may have flash and other cool stuff that you don't get with safari however it hogs RAM a lot which does make my system unresponsive at times.

Edit : I forgot this is in a Windows mobile territory. I might get bashed by Windows Mobile supporters. Anyway I am in a neutral point of view

Opera may have its pros but it has its drawbacks. That goes same for Safari too , but I still have to say Safari beats hands down on any other Mobile browser out there (minus the flash part but you could install some flash plug-in hack if you have JB'ed your touch/iPhone)

Edit #2 - I have been using Windows Mobile and palmOS before this. If i were given a choice , I'll say Blazer is one of the best browsers for mobile phones/pda at that upon of time. Its way better then Internet explorer for windows mobile on my treo 270 and 600 !

No pra I'm neutral. In fact I think the iPhone is extremely good on lots of aspects (especially the music player, of which HTC fails to achieve nicely), but browsing is not one of them.


Opera doesn't hog RAM if you use the correct builds. WM6.5 here on a 192MB RAM Diamond, 45% idle startup, 2 tabs of Opera only bumps it to 62%. I can open up to 4 without any nuclear meltdown.

If you use only 2 tabs (which is all people need for info lookup/reference/easy C-P) I'd have to argue that Opera leads the way.

I assume your WM phone has 128/64MB of RAM. In that case, sorry, you're rather SOL (192/256 gives a radically better experience in not just Opera but a heck lot more apps too)

My rather short experience with the iPhone with Safari has been pretty bad. DeviantART, Ars Technica, and I think either Tech Report or Slashdot crashed on me. Can't blame it too much though, AFAIK the 128MB RAM still shows its limits in the end. Especially with the extra needed animations

Maybe you're right with WM 6.5 . I have not tested Opera on WM 6.5 , so I can't comment the performance on it. It may have changed. However with 6.1 , I had a horrible experience with it.

I guess we do have we do have our own tastes and preferences. I'll give WM 6.5 a shot on my old device (hopefully its flash able and it runs). I'll let you know if its faster then WM 6.1. Since you're running WM 6.5 and not to mention I've been hearing lots of good things bout WM 6.5 . I guess I'll give it a shot if it runs faster then WM 6.1 (and hopefully it does !)
