As my trusty 902SH just recently seem to have succumb into a firmware problem (either that or it's REALLY dead finally, had been with me for nearly 4 years+), I would like to know if there's any other Japanese exotics which allow more than 160 characters of joint sms, and doesn't have compatibility issues with Maxis? Preferably something which supports local 3G as well, but that's purely optional.

Am thinking of the 903SH as well though. Then I'll have the 902SH, 903SH and 904SH in my collection, plus I've previously used a 802SH as well.


3G is purely optional actually.. Hmmmm.. But I guess not many Jphones support above 160 characters sms.. So awong, which of the phones you've listed supports over 160 characters for text?

Hurm.. So it's still the same, most models can go up to 160 characters while texting ya? Any exceptions as of now, especially the fully unlocked models?

Thinking of getting one for my fiancee, she had been using her half broken phone for over 5 years already. Budget is pretty tight though, about RM1k or so. Hurm..

One of my Sharp 930SH released year 2009 - I have another which is pink (but refurbed). Both with WX-T930 firmware.

My 902SH and 904SH is still with me. 902SH no longer works though, needs a reflash.

Maybe I should get a 903SH to fill up the gap.

All the newer flip phones have awesome specs, unlockable. But damn SMS limits at 160 chara. Bloody turn off.
