Clipping as in a pause or silence at certain points in a movie? If so, will it be detrimental to the home theater setup?
I am using Yamaha v473 with PSB T1, C1 and S1(sub).

It's usually when you play too loud and your AVR doesn't have sufficient power to drive the speaker anymore. Usually the under powered amp was more damaging to the speakers compared to slight 'over powered' amp..

Your Yamaha V473 should be alright as long as you didn't turn up the volume too loud..

Agreed with bro sonerin.. When all channel driven, usually the output will be lower than specified.. but as long as the output specified within the recommended power by the PSB speakers, it should be alright as long you don't drive it hard..

the sony e290 player has 1 hdmi output but not sure about setting to stream out the audio/video to avr. u're rite that the speakers have special connector to the player. question, can I cut the connector and use the loose end wire to connect it to avr ? anyone tried this before ? tq

I guess you Sony E290 speakers at 3ohm and I can't recall any of the mass market AVRs was to handle speakers at 3ohm..

nope but plan to get in from US.. rm1k before shipping..
dont have specific budget but hopefully whole package can be within 3k. if malaysia only can get this boston xs5.1 set less than 3k.. or pioneer jones series but i dont know my hometown senq sell how much tho.. pioneer set might be not suitable for my small bedroom tho..
*
Where's your hometown? Pioneer Andrew Jones series actually not bad for the movie.. Sen Heng or SenQ selling for RM299 for last year HTP-AJ3222. This year HTP-AJ3223 some RM100 more expensive if I remember correctly

i live in miri, sarawak.. dunno senq here got sell or not.. i scare this andrew jones series too big for my room, i have to see how to setup the room ><
*
Even if SenQ at Bintang don't have the stock, can always place the order but the problem will be the audition to see if the sound is what you're looking for. Alternatively if you're looking for smaller speaker, then might consider Pioneer VSX-523 with the Infinity speakers.

The older model was selling at RM2699 at SenQ or Sen Heng but not sure the new model with the VSX-523 AVR.

oh ok.. i have actually tested the infinity before, it sounded thin compare to their bigger infinity primus brother ( which i bought primus later for my living room). The new and old model got difference? or only the receiver difference? How do u rate this aj series compare to infinity?

But this senq i ask them can order or not they owes tell me cannot one, they owes say kl allocate wat they sell what, wtf.. u from miri also?
*
Only change was the receiver.. Of course I will take AJ series if I have the space but AJ series at RM2999 was package with the most basic Pioneer AVR VSX-322 or 323
I'm from Bintulu but Sen Heng here told me they can order watever they don't display and usually it's quite fast if others branch in Sabah/Sarawak have stock. Else they have to wait for the stock shipment from KL. I actually can place my order with other dealer out there with roughly 20% off the Pioneer RRP.. So, some model will have better pricing compared to SenQ or Sen Heng but not the AJ3222 series

oh ok.. i went to SenQ today to do a brief audit.. tried the andrew jones series, it doesnt sparkle but it does the job. i really love infinity TSS-500, it does sounded more detail and better feeling, it sounded bright, but not harsh. there is another pioneer set dont know which model, around 2.6k or 2.8k, sounded very harsh. i believe infinity is a better buy compared to andrew jones, maybe becos the receiver does makes a difference? infinity using pioneer 822k while AJ 322 or 323k.

The Andrew Jones series speaker that I audition was paired with VSX-822K. That was back in October during the Homedec at KL Convention Centre. My own 1st Pioneer AVR was VSX-919K which was a few generation back from current series. biggrin.gif

Now that VSX-919K was just sitting at ther corner un-used..
