QUOTE(luckykid5 @ Jul 22 2011, 02:11 PM) why u guys like diesel? petrol price nearly the same only now, between diesel and ron95. not much savings also right? Diesel powerplant punch more torque (Nm) so the pulling power is there. Not to mentioned if diesel turbo 1.6 at low rpm torque it would be insane on Exora!and for the cvt and turbocore, i'm hoping the turbocore will make it more powerful, hence indirectly you wont punch on the fuel pedal so much and save some petrol, and with cvt, same alittle more, e.g. 4%. |

QUOTE(jasondotcom @ Oct 4 2011, 11:10 AM) actually i have heard many but reserved my comments as i have never tested one before. but i just came back from SC to check on my Persona's engine rear mounting. And boy, i never heard a owner soo damn f***ing disappointed with his brand new one month old (2,000km) Exora basic line manual. Well I'd tested the Exora (A) twice and I am still not satisfied with their engine performance. As you said the interior and outlook is awesome and I quite like it as well honestly. Seriously after two times of testing the Exora it is just that the engine performance are below par when going up hill (that's only 3 adult sitting that time). When I say going uphill it is not the Genting kind of hills, it just a normal U-turn to climb back up the Sprint highway in cross with Jalan Datuk Sulaiman (TTDI) back to the Curve before the Penchala Link Tunnel to Sri Hartamas. He told me that he regret soo much that he bought this shit after learning that his exora could not go uphill (shopping mall car park ramp) with the car fully loaded with ppl. It was just impossible and he had to ask all his passengers to exit the car and then he could drive it up. He needed to floor the pedal to the metal to go up. And he also said that driving along hilly roads was a big challenge when fully loaded too. And now, the car is parked at the SC to solve a engine check light issue. Note: this is what i heard just now.... i am not bashing the car in anyway but IMHO / in fact i quite like exora's design. its interior design is really perfect / fantastic. The exterior is nice too except that the front bumper should hv it redesigned a little so that it does not look too boxy. And lastly, should have bigger engine (1.8 / 2.0). Personally I really like the Exora design as it is spacious which fits into my family profile but I really hope that Proton would do something with the engine at least increasing the torque (Nm - low rpm and higher torque). |

QUOTE(Matrix @ Oct 4 2011, 03:01 PM) Proton biggest problem is they lacked a new and more powerful engine....Campro is really long in the tooth ....which is why the only option left is to turborize the CAMPRO........building a new engine is too costly (and maybe they lacked the skills....CAMPRO was actually derived from Lotus).....sometimes, i feel they should just license an engine from elsewhere (but of course, need to nego for very good deal and support from the manufacturer...). Alternatively, just build a JV to invest or develop an engine with other car manufacturers.... Hoping that Exora turbo version will come out soon this year end and hoping that improves pickup. I'd been testing Peugeot 5008, Ford S-Max, Starex..man I love it very much.! lol...but the price of those cars are killing! Proton if your Exora turbo are satisfying, I'll book em right away! Added on October 4, 2011, 3:05 pm Crappy GPS software....i complained to Proton why you force Proton's customer buy overpriced junk. Your boss must be big crony with UMNO man.... Luckily, the hardware is still good and i can hack it with Garmin, Papago One and other software. Added on October 4, 2011, 3:09 pm Fuiyo...that's bad....One Utama parking ramp entrance in New Wing going up to the higher levels??? hehe. Yeah, i was contemplating to buy Exora as one of the options early this year, but in the end , chose Inspira. Exora interior is really nice. Exterior also good....If Exora can have the Inspira 2.0cc Mivec engine inside...becomes the perfect Exora!!! Exora is 1.4 tonne rite? Inspira is almost 1.3 tonnes i think. Added on October 4, 2011, 3:15 pm Sounds like...city drive sucks more fuel, highway drive will have better FC. |

QUOTE(redrose9802 @ Dec 16 2011, 02:50 PM) the difference in driving feeling is apparent in the low rpm, felt much better during city driving....i'm not use to cvt,it's just personal preference....anyway,for me it's a value for money mpv... Hello there! I'd tested the Exora CFE as well (Bold version). Got more pwr (the torque really help alot!) and smooth driving. No more rev-ing like the older Exora to get uphill now.About the CVT transmission why not like it? Did you select the S.Auto (ON) during the test drive? I know i did both (ON/OFF) them. Well according to the sales person because having 6-speed tranny CVT if the S.Auto is OFF and when you press the gas, it only drops to 5th gear where else if S.Auto is ON it wil drop to 4th gear which will give you more pickup. This is just what I heard from the proton sales person but I tested it and it is true to what he said. Also this Exora Bold does have an INTERCOOLER! I know someone said before in the other threads that it doesn't but it does. It is located under the right bumper if you looking from front. if you look at the Exora engine just look at the turbo (which is obvious right infront) and follow the 2 hose connected to the intercooler. Proton Exora rocks! Mutiara Damansara branch said if book December 2011 (ada stock) cna get it on the same month! |

Good job doing the detail testing! I didnt test 0-100kmh paiseh la. V12Kompressor Thanks for the correction here. So Exora CVT do not have 6-speed physically but more like a simulation of 6 speed feel. The branch is at Mutiara Damansara. One malay chap SA forgotten his name though. |

Now talk about the Exora Bold CFE CVT transmission, are they going to use the standard ATF oil or a different kind ATF oil? Do we need more special attention then the conventiional auto transmission?

i had boooked a coco grey color. now waiting to get my number mid apr.
also the SA said tht i can bring my own oil for service because they only provide semi-sync oil from petronas. i wont say is not good but i would like to use fullsync oil (Torco SR1 10w40) best protection. Also the sound system would be better if there's tweeter which i intend to put it on even thou it would void the warranty of the player. This post has been edited by akchang: Apr 1 2012, 10:41 PM |
