Proton Exora To Be Introduced As 1Malaysia Taxi
KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 (Bernama) -- The Exora Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) produced by Proton Holdings Berhad will be introduced as the 1Malaysia taxi to improve the quality of public transport.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said the ministry had discussed the matter with Proton on April 6 and felt that the vehicle could provide better comfort to passengers.
"The Exora is expected to be better than the other models of taxis as it has more seating space and bigger space for luggage," he told reporters after handing out 3,000 letters of approval for new individual taxi licenses in the Klang Valley, here Friday.
He said the issuance of budget taxis using several models of vehicles such as the Iswara, Wira, Waja and Saga would be continued until November besides introducing the Persona model as a taxi.

I beg to differ. There are more pragmatic and efficient models around which availability is hampered by excess import duties. Keep out as many foreign models, and the car market belongs to Proton, Perodua and Naza in all sectors.
