Greetings all pet lovers,

On behalf of the teachers or SK Bukit Tinggi Klang, i would like to inform you that the school will be having a Canteen Day on 26th April 2006 (SUNDAY). One of the highlights planned for this day is a small educational pet exhibition targeting school students and visitors. This is to give an oppurtunity for the visitors to know more about the wonderful creatures, their habitats, nature, pet care and also get up close n personal with the pets in the exhibition. The school would like to have small pets like guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, rabbits, sugar gliders, hedgies, chinchillas, cats, squirrels, chipmunks and other small furry n cute pets to be exposed n exhibite in this event. I would like to ask if there are any pet owners that is willing to help us making this small yet meaningful event a success by bringing their lovely pets to the event and share their love, knowlegde and thier lovely furry friends with the visitors. These is what you should do in the event :

1) Bring the pets with in a cage or comfortable/suitable container
2) You could bring some leaflets/ info charts / pictures / video or anything informative about you lovely pet that you would like to share (we can also help on this if you dont have the time/equipment)
3) When the visitors arrive, entertain them with information on your lovely pets, answer their questions (if any)

These are some facts related to the event :

Venue : Sek Ren Bukit Tinggi Klang (School Lab)
Date : 26th April 2009
Time : 9.00am- 3.00 pm
Target visitors : students, pet lovers, pet owners, Canteen Day visitors
Event Target : Education - this is not a pet sale booth, the pets are only for display and for educational purpose only, unless the volunteers are a responsible pet breeder that are willing to sell their pets in the event.

We need your support, please help and spread the love of animals in this meaning full event. Please PM me, reply in this thread or call/sms 019-3301812 for further details or if you're interested to volunteer. I will also be in the event and showcase my guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils.

scorpions are welcome too can you come n join us? i did mentioned furry and small, but we welcome small exotic pets too, as long as the owner are there to supervise n educate the visitors.

um due to the fact that the event is in primary school, we could not allow the participants to bring dogs along....i'm very very sorry that i didnt mention this earlier....this is because the majority visitors, teachers and students are Muslim. I'm very sorry....no offence ya, i'm Muslim but i do like dogs oso...too bad cannot see dog in this event....but please bring ur Sugar glider...would you bring ur suggies?

gliders can't stay up all day to play..
they sleep in the morning..
so, probably can bring them out to show for a few minutes
then let them back to sleep
elsee they might die of exhaustion...

plus, i'm not sure if i'll be in kl....

we bring our glider go out and watch movie but they just stay inside the pouch so it's not a problem. But for some or mostly gliders sleeping time was in the morning. So if we played with them or they got tired playing a night before and then next morning we bring them out as it means out of pouch it sure gonna exhaust them

You can try to ask him but I must stress out that Hedgie is not good for travel as it can stress them... But if you know how to bring them out it will give them less stress.. However, since Eric is the new owner now, you have to ask him if he's willing to bring Ken or not as I'm sure he knows what best for Ken too

Muchan, u shud pass ur siggy on Ken to eric138 lorh... so he an use it.. kekeke

thank you for your opinion, i'm aware that this will be one of the result of the event, the negative one i suppose....but that is why i encourage the volunteers to explain to them on how to take care this precious creatures and to appreciate, not just to own them. This is also the reason why i disencouraged pet sales in this event, coz we want to educate, not sell....i did plan to seek sponsors and participation from the petshops nearby at first, but cancel it to avoid these circumstances that you mentioned. I

if i have sufficient time (actually i'm sooooo lack of time d.... ) i would like to make a simple brochure to be distributed to the visitors, containing some notes on "why pets?", or something that can help them to question themselves (or the parents) about how ready are they are to own a pet, what does having one cost, the effects, and so on....actually i'm still thinking of the content n format of this brochure, if anyone got an idea please share it here ya...

Those kids are like exited over the scorp.. At least they did handle it like i have instructed them.. And my Home-made tank is all destroyed.. Doing the fixes rite now.. At least they quite scared with the one with the sting still attached...

n the OPERATION BEETLE really is a big LOL~! did anyone wonder ahy tht little creature operation need soo many nurses...gosh damn funny la~! but that operation reallh help my beetle, thank alot guys~!

i went back n pengsan till next morning...the kids really kicking fun la, but so naughty they make me soo scared my gerbils will all pengsan of exhastion they keep "burrying my gerbil with the bedding n kidnap them away....chase them her n there to to rescue my gerbil boys....there is also a cute gurl always want to hold my GP Shiki...my GOD i'm soooo scared if she want to kidnap Shiki, she just wont let go~!

my mother informed that the coupon collection for WONDER PETS event alone is RM600~! Rm1 per entry means basically 600 ppl visit our show~! for a school canteen day its sure a big number...CONGRATULATIONS~! Everyone did a great job~!!!!! bravo~!

Got my self a new scorpion today.. just inform thats all.. heheh

yup the count is based on the collected tickets. 600 entries by kids and adult visitors alike. i hope this will be arrange elsewhere too. I too learnt alot from the event, i touched scorpion for the first time in my life (which i nv thought i will do hoho), learn some info mistake on my own gerbil (shame shame...) learn that even beetle got MITES...n lots lots more. thanks everyone, this is a small yet meaningful event i WONT FORGET....
