hello..

I am new to symbian and have absolutely no idea. BUt im interested in the nokia e71.

I was wondering, how do u download msn messenger tot he e71? I dont have a nokia e71 yet hence I am asking. So if I buy an original set, if I go to the download folder and let it refresh? will I see a windows live to download?

Also, about this symbian sign certificate thingy, will I face a problem installing msn messenger, opera browser, gmail application and fring? well I only want to install this 3 application. and I dont know anything about this sign certificate stuff..

Does an original set comes with dictionary and quickoffice on the inside?


Moreover, I have been reading this thread a little at page 88. What do u mean by hacking the phone for the certicate? Is it something like disabling the online certificate checking? I dont own the phone yet, just played around in the shop, so I dont know much yeah. I am previously from a windows user hence my great confusion now ..

Haha yes... buy phone have to do research. I never spent rm1200 phone before. last time I used motorola mpx200 i bought it around rm700 serve his purpose. everyone is like asking, " eh how u go online on msn via mobile" those days were like proud as not many phone are able to do so. I saw fring on the iphone, I didnt know, symbian s60 have that too. That is good. I just finish reading the entire thread so know a little here and there.

so for the msn, what do u mean by logging in nokia website from my phone? u mean go to the s60 browser and look for the download at nokia website? I tried looking on the nokia site using my pc, I cant find it. Nokia website states to download them, you need to refresh the download folder..

So, by refreshing the download folder, will the windows live folder appear for download?

2nd question, which one consume more data usage, fring or msn messenger? I intend to use msn only as I dont have anyone on others such as yahoo and etc..

BY the way, if I buy the original one, will I get like 2 dictionary in there, chinese one and english one? I saw some post in this thread with regards to that, but I see no confirmation of that having done reading the thread.

by the way, to those who have the zitron or avaxx nokia e71, I am just curious where is the phone made in? finland or hungary?

hehe yeah will let u guys know. I dont own a nokia e71 yet. planning to get it next month or so.

so now just researching. just wann ask u guys, the nokia messaging service . I ll put a situation that you guys can help me to understand a bit.

lets say the nokia messaging service I use my Gmail account , go to nokia site and register and all. So lets say, I send an email to my gmail account.

So, e71 will get a notification right. SO my question is what notification will I see? will I see, who is the sender and the subject of the email??

OR will I see, the sender, the email subject and the body of the email as well?

So that is question 1. Question 2, if can I actually reply the email from nokia messaging? or the service is just to let u know u have an email?

so the nokia messaging only differs in one way.

nokia messaging push the email straight to u like SMS, rather than setting up a pop3 account with gmail that uses gprs/edge/3G that needs to download the email?

so no cost for nokia messaging to push the email to you?

Also, wanna ask is my gmail gets lots of email into the spam folder. So if I register for nokia messaging, will it notify me I have an email eventhough that particular email is destined to be in my spam folder in my gmail?

so if the email goes to my spam folder, will I be notified that I have an email?

say for example Gmail. cause I get a lot of spam at my gmail, so it will be a bummer if it does notify me about the spam email.

i just bought the avaxx black steel. I was wondering why the english dictionary whenever I open it, it keep telling me english is the only version I have, and ask me whether I want to download other languages?

is there any other way to switch this bugging thing off?

also is there a way for me to delete the chinese dictionary?

my e71 lock the keypad after awhile by itself. i was wondering whether I can edit this setting? I cant seem to find the option in the phone..

anyone of u guys used nimbuzz for IM before? how does it fair against msn messenger?

yeah i agree the next new version of thread should have accesorries for the e71. I have been trying to look for the perfect silicone casing. anyone using silicone casing can freely post a pic if possible.

how come my e71 does not show contact from the sim card? I have to click the sim directory first then only I am able to see the contact installed in the sim card though...
