Symbian OS S60 fp2 which is quite good a step for improvement. but lets hope there's more additional stuffs when Nokia officially announces the phone. ARgGggg....my E71 not even 1 month old and now E72 making my hands itchy. |

QUOTE(red-queen @ Jun 15 2009, 12:17 PM) cheers! no, what i meant was (in ur terms) if ur 2.0L engine still not good enough (not decent enough for a 2.0L performance), fix it first b4 u come up with new car with a V12 10L engine..cheers.. well, the 3.2MP can do so much....no fix can allow it to have more pixels. so with the 5MP, it's definitely an improvement on the hardware. it's like saying you modify a 2.0 litre engine, you're ought to reach a maximum where you cannot go anymore. so now they put on a big V12 10 litre engine. you know it's gonna be better than the 2.0 litre engine right? hey anybody used the garmin XT location message..tried playing around with it but it seems the only way to actually get the message is when garmin xt is opened, am i right? anybody else tried playing with this..its cool by the way.. |

QUOTE(red-queen @ Jun 15 2009, 01:27 PM) ohHhh...now i know what you mean, sorry my bad. hehehe, well i guess Nokia has not much expertise in camera's as their phones even though 5MP still loses out to SE's lower MP camera. so they take the shortcut of putting in a larger engine instead of fine tuning the 2.0L no probs whats with the garmin MXT location message? what does it do? i'll go test it out later. The garmin xt location message is by sending the location message to friends with gps phone and garmin, they can track u with navigation directly to ur location...its like no need to "u find this building, then opposite that building there's a small cafe, i'm in the cafe which is 2 blocks away" sort of thing...hehehe get it? really cool feature..it shows ur exact gps location at time of sending the msg..local sms charges apply |

QUOTE(scofield @ Jun 16 2009, 12:13 PM) E72 looks the same to me with E71..except 5mp camera and a re-touch on the navigation panel..nothing much different IMO..but i'm still looking for spec info on E72.. look at the photo comparison and easily notice the keypad looks much better on the e72, slightly bigger..might just be a worthy upgrade..you could compare both phone here: E71 vs E72 but i agree that e72 looks kinda 'flat'... |

my E71 also can last 'upto' to 2days only but 1day and a half i have to charge already, dun like the battery going empty halfway n i try my best not to charge while sleeping (full only i disconnect the charger).
a tip on garmin xt, change 'backlight override' to 'only when speaking' as the backlight turned on all the time affects your battery life, aside from the 'background service'. Added on June 23, 2009, 11:47 am QUOTE(red-queen @ Jun 22 2009, 08:52 PM) is there any code to type to restart my phone? i was trying to configure my email settings and it said that my phone memory is full. yup JBAK Taskman roxx... memory as in RAM? so what i did was switch-off and switch-on the phone again, problem solved. i haven't shut down my phone since i bought it from day one. and today i was using it as a modem for 3G internet the whole afternoon while i was at my customers place. could this be the problem? also, how do we check the RAM utilization on the E71? Added on June 22, 2009, 9:37 pmmanage to do all the above by installing Jbak Task Manager. r0x0r program!!! This post has been edited by attahun: Jun 23 2009, 11:47 AM |

Added on June 23, 2009, 9:26 pm QUOTE(red-queen @ Jun 23 2009, 11:52 AM) what are you using your phone for? for me, i charge my phone everyday. cause before i sleep, my battery on average will left 2-3 bars. i know this can last another half more day, but i ain't taking the risk as i need my phone on all the time. i dunno exactly, i assume it like just refresh 'used' memory but not cleared... if ur always on the phone, checking emails, sms-ing, using garmin occasionally, playing a few games then i think the battery will last approximately 1 half days. asking for 2 days is abit too much i guess. or maybe ur battery really is faulty, so you can try to get nokia to change it for u if it's an original phone and not AP. let us know the outcome if u changed ur battery.... Added on June 23, 2009, 11:53 am if i clear memory, what does it actually do? it'll kill all my process to clear memory? or it will just refresh whatever memory that has been used before but nto released properly. QUOTE(red-queen @ Jul 1 2009, 02:24 PM) how did you achieve such high speed? i realise that my USB file transfers via the phone usb cable is slow as well. but when i remove the memory card and slot it into my card reader in my laptop, i manage to transfer at a higher speed. they say its the cable and that E71 microusb is usb1.1 and not usb2.0...i'm not sure but the speed does not change much even after i connect the phone in "memory transfer mode"so im not sure if its the phone or the cable that is making it slow? the specification is "Phonebook - Practically unlimited entries and fields" therefore subject to disk size only. And each entry also may have as much numbers as you require, means you can have redundant "mobile", "telephone" and "email" entries

How often your phone will hang?? I am using 8G and now almost occupied 50% of my memory card, will it cause over capacity for the processor to handle? |

QUOTE(Calcool77 @ Jul 2 2009, 11:40 AM) Hi there, since you already updated firmware, i'd suggest you do a hard reset of your phone to ensure all the previously installed apps are cleared. How often your phone will hang?? I am using 8G and now almost occupied 50% of my memory card, will it cause over capacity for the processor to handle? By the way, can you teach me how to delete some program?? I have updated my firmware to the latest and found some of the program actually disapper in the remove list, but those program still can be executed. Just that I would like to uninstall them, but I couldn't found where is the main program, everytime I press remove and it will showed remove failed. Pls advise me STEPS: turn off your phone. While pressing call button (green key) + Y@3 + U@*; turn on the phone and keep on holding the 3 buttons. You can release them after the welcome screen (handshake screen). That should reset the phone and return to original clean state. Delete installed software on memory card and re-install each and every app. DO BACKUP YOUR PHONE PRIOR TO THIS RESET. You can easily backup your phone contacts, notes and calendar to microsoft outlook, very convenient and efficient. 1 thing though, set your dialing properties prior to backup using outlook especially if you save numbers with the "+60" code. I myself set the country as other than malaysia coz when i set to malaysia it will save numbers as +60(space)12xxxxxxx.
