It is so difficult to find pocket squares. Robinsons at Gardens doesn't have them. Mytieshop only has synthetic ones; I bought a white poly PS there on a whim. There are 5 in various solid shades of green at Metrojaya Mid Valley and a solid black. None at Isetan. That's strange, because braces can be found everywhere. I can't even find a plain linen PS, and instead had to have a cotton handkerchief cut down to size and rehemmed by my alterations tailor.

I had a look at ebay and just bought these two.

QUOTE(calvinloke @ Dec 26 2009, 08:25 PM)
Recently I bought a couple of cotton pocket squares and hand-rolled the edges myself.

I kept thinking of going to Binwani's, buy a little linen and magnificent silks, and making them myself. Alas, I am unconvinced of my own ability.

I am beginning to think a pocket square with raw frayed edges would be very tasteful spezz.

Added on December 26, 2009, 11:53 pmNah, on second thought, not really.

Daiso has started selling pocket squares. No, not cotton hankerchiefs, but real polyester PS in paisley, polko dot, plain and even PoW patterns. I bought 2 yesterday.

I actually took nice pics but about a week ago thunder struck my condo unit and the internet no longer works. I'm in a KFC now using their wifi. Tomorrow the TM guy comes.

Everything? Is that the right answer?

Added on April 14, 2010, 6:50 pmThe original intention was to get something in crimson to burgundy because I don't have such a colour. But nothing on Ebay grabbed me...until this came along.

Well, the above ebay purchase arrived after a long delay due to the icelandic ash. It is awesome. The silk is thick and substantial, the print very charming. What a fantastic deal. The rolled edges were done very nicely by the seller who is located in London.

Added on May 18, 2010, 10:14 pmI'm so happy with it. My first truly great PS.

I initially thought it was a penis sock.

Added on July 7, 2010, 2:53 pmI've always wanted a very well executed plain white linen pocket square. However, I find it psychologically painful to have to pay the sort of prices vendors were asking for them. RM60 for a hanky? Sorry, I cannot do it.

So I looked beyond the usual suspects and turned to ... ebay. Snapped up a set of 2 vintage Irish linen hankies from the days when kleenex hasn't yet been invented and people actually used this stuff daily.

The quality is awesome. Such fine cloth. The seller's pictures do not do it justice.

Also, the edge finishing is more interesting than the ubiquitous rolled edge.

I found a wonderful source of hand-rolled silk pocket squares in KL. Many colourways, very enlightened designs, very high quality, in a luxury shop with very friendly salespeople. Only RM32/piece. Even eBay would cost twice as much. I bought one, and plan to buy more.

Added on August 14, 2010, 7:54 pmPls don't PM me asking for the source. I'm not telling.
