I have a question about Mail.

I setup my Mail to work with Gmail. Here are my settings:

Fetch New Data: Off
Push: Off
Fetch: Manually
Advance>Mail>Select Schedule: Manual

I've setup everything to be manual and I even have push notifications off. Why is my Mail still occasionally checks email and suddenly pops up that I have unread mails on the icon?

Please advice.

Could it be that you accidentally opened the Mail application?

Nope I'm quite sure I did not touch my mail app, just once in a while the icon will show I have new mail. Any idea?

No idea - I used to have issues with my Push not functioning properly but it never really quite bothered me; for the mail accounts which were manually set, they don't automatically check for mail without me doing anything. Perhaps U may want to re-look at your settings once again?

Hi, I think my Iphone is having a major (or minor, seems major to me though) problem. My phone has recently contacted with the Ikee virus, which I didn't bother to look until now. Now I learnt that you need to change your password using the mobileterminal from cydia, so I thought I try that. After I install, I have no idea where I should start the terminal. Then they also tell me to delete some of the files in the iphone using either SSH or iphonebrowser. Both didn't work too. WinSCP not connecting, and Iphonebrowser give the error all the time, everytime it tries accesing the Iphone. I try other iphone browser like iphone explorer, also cannot start, gives the same error with iphonebrowser.

I also want to mention that the SSH setting in my SSBSetting menu (where you slide your finger at the top of the screen) also missing, and yes, I did try toggle it out in the "Set toggles", but it still missing.

Is all these caused by the ikee worm? Or something else? i tried to restore my phone, but the itunes insist on updating my phone if i try to do so, which is another problem, but hey, one problem at one time.

My phone version is 3.0 3GS btw, officially unlocked from australia. My friend jailbreak it using purplerain last time.

Ok, apparently those files can be deleted via MobileTerminal as well, so all done . But my other problems are still there. To make it short;

1. SSH toggle is not available in SSBSetting
2. All phone browsers are not working with my phone.

to on/view da ssh toggle.. slide down sbs, go to more, set toggles, ssh toggle shud be one of da last ones..make sure it is on...
turning it on here is to enable da toggle...not to enable or disable ssh itself...
so on da toggle n then frm sbs, can on n off it...

as for da second one, did u jb with blackra1n rc1? when it 1st came out?

a, re-run blackra1n with da latest rain app frm da website or
b, u can get tis fix frm cydia, afc2add..

Thanks for replying. The thing is, I know about the toggle mode in the SSBSettings. I already turn it on/ off but the SSB toggle is not there, no matter what I do. Change the toggle, reinstall SSHOpen, SSHtoggle, SSBSetting, reboot. Nothing.

And my phone is 3GS 3.0, officialy australia unlocked unit, JBed using purplerain. THis problem only happens two three days ago, around the time I contacted the Ikee worm.

i suggest you to follow what bro harmeet15 has proposed. restore to latest FW and rejailbreak with blackra1n.

as for the SSH issue, i did face similar incident whereby after the installation of OpenSSH from Cydia and the toggle for SBSettings, i am unable to access my i3G via SSH (WinSCP). however, a reboot did solve the problem. no issues accessing the phone via SSH since then.

hi guys, just wander do anyone encounter the problem that i faced before or not, it happened 2-3time before on on set but not often. FYI, mine were 3GS, Maxis set, OS 3.1.2 and non JB.

The problem is occurred when I wanna turn off my phone, after performed the "slide to power off", the phone went into black screen with the running circle. Just when circle is about to be gone, by right the phone should be totally turn off right?

Mine will turn back to the springboard! Something like soft reset / soft restart. Anyone have this problem before?

Yes I have been reading it. Do you even realise how many million posts are there in the pinned thread? by the time i finish reading it will be Iphone 3GS*X.
