QUOTE(ken_wickedboy @ May 13 2009, 11:10 PM) Now that the official iPhone is released, is there a way for us to purchase iTunes Gift Card locally? I'm still attached to US App Store and would like to remain that way but so far, the only way for me to fund it is via iTunes Gift Card. Anyone got a work around for it? they are not even connected in the first place. the american iTunes store (as the name suggests) is dedicated for the consumption of the american market. i fail to see how the fact that iPhones are launched in malaysia has to do with the local market selling american iTunes gift cards?

QUOTE(kayzie @ May 13 2009, 11:34 PM) Hi guys, I'm sharing a little info here. I've updated my iTunes to 8.1.1 yesterday. For some reason iTunes couldn't detect my iphone. I figured out my pen drive was plugged in, so I removed it and replug in iphone cable too. It works after that. Might or might not be the iTunes version prob but I'm sharing it here so if someone's iphone can't be detected, at least you know this is 1 of the reason. depends on your built in usb hub to be honest. my dell xps desktop has 8 usb ports and i utilised all of them. when i first got it, there were a lot of usb device "compatibilities" and i had to play "trial and error" games with it by randomising the ports. for example, plugging out the printer from the first port, and then webcam et cetera. QUOTE(GriBBLEz @ May 18 2009, 05:51 PM) Does we have to pay for the apps? this statement will definitely qualify for the "question of the year" award. perhaps you need to see the distinction between the word "Free" and $

QUOTE(PeeEl @ May 18 2009, 08:53 PM) However, we have to tip our hats to him as he has put his iPhone up for sale, probably because he does not know what can be done with it. Sad that some just do not bother to read up, learn and enjoy what this gadget can offer. LOL! you are really a stitch with words! i'm laughing so hard now that i'm getting dagger stares from the people here in the library.

i have a couple of handy tips for those peeps, contemplating to purchase iTunes gift cards off ebay.
1. only use the american version i.e. www.ebay.com
2. distinguish between an actual card and the certificate code variant (always opt for the actual card)
3. locate sellers who do take the an actual picture of the card i.e. not something from the professionally taken pictures. spot for flashes, picture inconsistencies indicating an amateur at work.
4. locate sellers who sell these cards as an one off event i.e. not indulging exclusively in the iTunes gift card proprietorship. chances are they have received these cards as gifts.
5. avoid buy it now transactions and opt for the auction based instead
6. if it sounds too good to be true ... it probably is. on average, the possibly "discount" obtained for a USD25 gift card is probably $4 or $5.
7. before placing a bid, give the seller a PM indicating your desire to have a scanned or picture of the actual card. explain why you need a copy (citing fraud and inconsistent suspensions from Apple as reasons) and believe me, they will be more than happy to comply with your request. hence it is also important to locate one off sellers as stipulated in (4)

QUOTE(lunarcry @ May 21 2009, 09:58 PM) I've just got an iphone from an australian telco. Right now i'm just not sure whether i should be getting an australian itunes account or a malaysian? I have a malaysian credit card and i've heard that it can't be used for australia's itunes store. So should i go ahead and register for malaysia's store? And sorry if this question has been brought up before. I've tried browsing the pages but i couldn't find an answer.Another question is, with an itunes gift card do i still need to have an apple itunes id? totally an understatement. either you didn't look hard enough or the weather is too hot. refer to SECTION A: GENERAL iTUNES RELATED QUESTIONSQUOTE(lunarcry @ May 21 2009, 09:58 PM) I've just got an iphone from an australian telco. QUOTE(kayzie @ May 25 2009, 08:27 PM) Is it possible to sync music from different iTunes of different computers? If I sync with iTunes A then songs B will be replaced, and vice versa... Is there a way to do this? not with iTunes, as it is a measure to combat piracy. if you require such features, may i suggest that you use those USB thumbdrive cum mp3 players instead?

QUOTE(GriBBLEz @ Jun 1 2009, 08:10 PM) iPhone can read m4r files? xD. sorry. noob quest. if it is downloaded from iTunes, it should work fine on your iPhone with the exceptions of HD based videos (can someone confirmed this, as my movie purchases are in the standard definition) however there have been concerns, that some movie trailers fail to mount up

How do i seperate them both? i've been using my ipod touch account in my itunes... recently i bought an iphone...and when i first plugged it in, a pop up ask me whether to recognize as a new device or backup from old account (something like that, i dont quite remember)...so i clicked on the backup from old account thing...and now both my ipod touch and iphone is using the same account (meaning have the same application and stuffs).... How do i separate them both? well in a nutshell, you cannot separate them manually. so either you perform a clean "restore" on the iPod Touch or iPhone.

QUOTE(Brick1235 @ Jul 1 2009, 11:14 AM) Aiyak! my Computer i formatted again and I install iTunes again for my iPhone to sync backup and all the apps. It gives me a message saying that i have authorize 4 out of 5 computers already. but but but its the same COMPUTER! just new OS makes no difference. you have to initiate the self "deauthorisation" yourself before attempting an OS restore/installation. if your theory actually holds, it means that my macbook pro will currently have 3 authorised iTunes accounts on it? despite being the SAME computer?
