I seriously enjoyed the adventures of Robin Hood when I was a child.
The tales of his deeds where he robs from the rich to give to the poor -- it's like waaay past awesome
Especially when Disney came up with their rendition of the classic tale, it's just simply marvelous!

Another that was a favorite of mine is The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling.
While I can enjoy Mowgli's adventure and all, but my most favorite story in that entire collection is the Rikki-Tikki-Tavi.
It is the tale of a super-speed mongoose battling it out with snakes in order to protect his masters

Haha! I remember Dr Seuss very well
