i think its normal..
we r using same processor..
if you want to compare with my result i can give the OCCT pics

edited : i think the temp for the overclocked one is normal..
but the non-oc temp is too hot than mine.. my temp less than 50

55+ idle is hot for 400FSB. What heatsink you are on anyway? Check your fans, thermal paste and cable management too.

to add some input, your super pi 1M benchmark too slow, mind quad on 3ghz finishes at 17s while your better cpu completes at 34s, 100% slower. something's not right here.

run occt at same time will slow down superpi since both programs will fight for processing power.

Using the same mobo (EP35-DS3) and Xeon version of the proc as well, with a weaker cooler (Hyper212), and well ventilated case (Antec 900).

The only time my proc hits >65 C is on a very hot day as comp isn't in an air conditioned room. The board also struggles to go past 410FSB for me, was benching it last night @ 425 and still occasionally hangs at odd times (pass IBT 50 times, yet hang when idle :S).

What are your voltage settings @ 3.32GHz?

u run OCCT of cos la super pi performance drop.... both trying to take over processing power... apa la

conclusion, ur temp is pretty much normal... from the looks of the vcore, it's as predicted... regarding the error on occt, im not sure if occt sees faults on ram as an error or not biggrin.gif

There most be something wrong with your hardware then. You did a very good job on the cables. I don't know how many fans you can put into your casing but more fans will help the cooling. I can see a FM123 on the exhaust. tongue.gif

His idle is 56C and load is 66C. He didn't put Realtemp on his first screenshot.

load 66c on 1.232v @ 3.2ghz, with stock vcore is 1.175... 67c is pretty normal to me... from my point of view, it looks like u overestimated ur proc and heatsink, thinking that 45nm "should" be cooler and s-1283 can cool down a quad core like ice... from what i see, ur vcore, stock vcore and oc'ed clock, ur TDP should be around 120w... although Q9450 is a 45nm proc, it still has a tdp of 95W at 2.66ghz, same as Q6600 65nm, much hotter than any core2duo at its clock speed.. the only differences is the vcore it takes to reach a certain clock speed, ie Q6600 1.3v 2.4ghz, Q9450 1.2v 2.66ghz and so on

for the setting, the temp is super normal...
the temp for 45nm will have a significant increase, when the vcore is increased.
and for 3.2ghz, the vocre is quite high imo, stock vcore should able to do it or even more..
lastly, if ur processor work well at stock setting, i dont think u can rma it..

My question here is not about my temp getting higher when OC or wut...but can u all spot the different on IDLE & LOAD on 4 of my cores?

and 4 ur information i repeat it back i got this prob since i bought it & since i know nothing about OC and run this proc at stock speed which is 2.66ghz..

all the 4 cores on high temp all the time sweat.gif...this is wut im asking....why the temp not lower at idle even at normal stock speed...i hope its clear by now laugh.gif...

bro TristanX thx for ur screenshot ur helping me thumbup.gif to see normal temp at the 4 cores on idle =.=||...

and i oredi done searching & googling about this prob b4 i post this thread.....some forum said its FAULTY SENSOR on wut i dunno & some said its becoz bios not updated =.=||...

so i post this thread coz want to hear from sifu's here whether this is serious prob or wut notworthy.gif .....or maybe someone can share if got similar prob like me thumbup.gif ..

I've heard there are some faulty Digital Thermal Sensor on some sites so I think your's is either faulty or the BIOS needs update. Try updating the BIOS and hope it's fixed.

Is the temperture after rain? The screenshot I posted is after rain. I gonna mess around with stock voltage and see how cool I could get. hehe

I don't know which revision you are on but this is where you get your BIOS:

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherb...Keyword=p35-ds3

Gigabyte has dual BIOS for safety.

@kilowatt, mind stating in text form what is ur idle and load? i blur seeing ur screenshot not knowing wat u wan me to see

Stock

Idle = ?
Load = ?

OC

Idle = ?
Load = ?

an info i'd share wit u on how to calculate TDP

TDP = Stock TDP*(overclock speed/stock speed)*(voltage used/stock vcore)

so ur quad core heat = 95W*(3200/2667)*(1.232/1.175)

just a rough estimation, but its quite accurate though biggrin.gif

Update on Q9450 for 3.2Ghz@1.175v, there is not much difference on idle but it's cooler on load:

I think you just need to do something in your casing. How many high performance fans do you have inside? I have 5 + 2 silent, reduced from 7 cause my top fans can't get more air to exhaust. lol

My 2 FM123 fans has some rpm drop. Looks like it's getting weary. Used to be 2000rpm and it is controlled by my motherboard.

Hopefully it's your faulty DTS.

I have 1 Silverstone FM123, 3 Coolermaster 90CFM fans for intake. 2 graphic cards exhaust air on it's own, 1 Silverstone FM123 and 2 Coolermaster Silent LED fans for exhaust. I forgot I have an Evercool 80x80x15 fan exhausting air behind my motherboard.
