QUOTE(Kampung2005 @ Apr 14 2009, 03:01 PM) The government plan to extend both Kelana Jaya line and Sri Petaling line to Putra Heights... I think just continue from the existing one will do.Therefore, i have concern on what kind of station will they build.... In this photo, this is my idea, what is your opinion? Your design will probably cause congestion,if the LRT comes at a too close time interval,as one of them doesnt have the platform to pick up the passengers. Unless the platform is long enough to accommodate both LRT's length.Still,it might cause havoc to the rest of the system as other platforms arent long enough. QUOTE(Kampung2005 @ Apr 14 2009, 03:07 PM) Too close time interval is not a problem, because the signalling can dictate the space of trains This is stupid,IMO.After all, as i mentioned, the LRT extensions, are merely extensions of the existing lines (KJ line and Sri Petaling line) Since it is impossible to connect both lines directly, due to different technology and infrastructure, i think this kind of platform will ease the problem of line transfer, provided both the KJ and Sri Petaling ticketing system, are merged Added on April 14, 2009, 3:08 pm Nope, my idea applies to the possible Putra Heights station, where both future extensions of Star and Putra will meet Why do we need to have different systems in the first place? London Subway just use one kind of train and it could get you to entire London.Same as HK's subway system and SG's MRT.While Malaysia have 3 different system(LRT,Monorail and Star) in KL.Why cant malaysia do the same thing as those countries? Fracturing your system into a few independent systems is just dumb,IMO.Maintainance and upgrades will be whole lot easier if there is only one system in KL. Passengers would have less confusion and inconvenience as there is only one integrated system.People would waste less time in waiting for train to come or walking to another station. Thank gawd im not interested in Highway Engineering. There are shit load of bad example in Malaysia that would give me endless facepalm. Most of the tunnels in Malaysia are also used wrongly. |

QUOTE(Kampung2005 @ Apr 14 2009, 03:23 PM) Agreed, there are too many mess caused by the adoption of various technologies, which led to incompatibility and difficulty of integration of different modes of transport... I really no idea what are these people doing. So many silly decision are being made.Adopting different systems shouldnt happen in the first place, with proper planning.Unless there is a change in the capacity of passengers.I still hate the way they put the Monorail station at KL Sentral. That is why, from the moment the Star and Putra being planned and completed, there is no way to connect both lines, seamlessly... The only mitigation we can do for now, is to change the design of interchange stations to make transit to other line, easier and requires less walking What i think is,we should extent the LRT line, using the same technology as the LRT so that it's compatible with the new line. The LRT system is pretty good too.Compare to Star and the shitty Monorail. Probably a bigger interchange station is needed,IMO.The typical rectangular system isnt sufficient. QUOTE(MauveMarionette @ Apr 14 2009, 03:23 PM) Meh, nah. It's alright. Good luck then. This is what you get when your dad disapprove the course you want; by testing your capability. =_= I got a very ugly maths question to do now. QUOTE(Kampung2005 @ Apr 14 2009, 03:33 PM) Both Sri Petaling line and Kelana Jaya line, will be an extension project, and like the word "EXTENSION", that means, both extensions on those lines, will continue to use the same technology I do hope that they gonna extent to Kota Damansara. The Kota Damansara - Cheras line, Rapid KL suggest the government to use MRT instead of LRT Frankly, MRT is much welcomed for that line Makes going to KL a lot easier for me. |
