Yes, it certainly will but it's not too bad on the MacBook Pro Retina Display since there are dedicated dual air-intake inlets and a single dedicated exhaust outlet. The cMBP has the same design minus the dual air-intake inlets so it should be alright as well.

If you are on MacBook Air, then definitely not recommended as there are no air intake / exhaust ports. I did put Speck on my MacBook Air 13" before and it heated up considerably. Not recommended unless you are in aircon environment most of the time or you really want to take care of your MacBook Air like a baby.
*
yea, actually im not really concern about heat stuck due to casing cause there is intake unless you play very graphic intense game la.

Skin looks nice actually, but bear in mind it doesn't covers the sides and it won't stop accidental knocking from denting your mbp.
*
true, but i think it is sufficient for people who rarely bring out their rmbp

Anyone own 15" Retina Macbook Pro using Speck case? I'm finding Speck Clear Smart Shell. It is thinner than normal Speck case. Wonder where can I buy it.

Beautiful cover bro!

What size does it fit to? 13"? 15"? MBA or MBP?

And mind telling how much and where you got it? Interested. biggrin.gif
That's what I hate about Satin covers, looks nice until you get scratches on them. And it's really easy to get scratched! Rather use my Mac naked.

will the heat trap inside the case and makes the machine hotter?

Yes, definitely. When I was using a MacBook Air 13" previously, the heat had increased quite noticeably as the aluminium itself is supposed to act as a heat sink. The problem won't be that bad for MacBook Pros which have dedicated exhaust vents, though. Anyhow, the additional heat won't affect much unless you are constantly playing games or running CPU / graphics intensive applications with it.
*
there are always trade-off in technology. Want thin laptop? Sure get hot easily, want cold laptop? your laptop need to be thick for airflow.

QUOTE(chokia @ Jun 3 2013, 10:40 AM)
they should be a scratch proof glossy material Apple can apply on the body that be able to dissipate heat as well. That way we dont have to spend a single cent to SPECK or any other 3rd party casing that make the MBA ugly
*
I don't think Apple will do that. Lot of brand depends on Apple device, if they make their device not scratchable. Who will buy these cases?

QUOTE(bert2662 @ Jul 1 2013, 12:51 AM)
Currently using a Speck Satin Matte Black casing for my rMBP 15", jz because the matte black looked cool, and can be pretended to be low-profiled, LOL!

post some pic here rclxms.gif I'm cosidering to get one too. RM188?

Instead of casing, has anyone of you considered skins, e.g. those from Lucky Labs?

They're gorgeous, and they protect your Mac from getting scratched.  For carrying around, just get a sleeve for it.
*
I heard of lucky labs, they made good quality skins but too troublesome and risky to stick a laptop unless someone do for me laugh.gif

Seriously? you can easily buy any rechargable battery then it will do. Enlope is the best so far. Unless u wan your whole thing to be APPLE product why not....
*
I find the price quite reasonable. 6 batteries and a charger for 99 bucks, it's Apple. Why not?
