Yes, it certainly will but it's not too bad on the MacBook Pro Retina Display since there are dedicated dual air-intake inlets and a single dedicated exhaust outlet. The cMBP has the same design minus the dual air-intake inlets so it should be alright as well.

If you are on MacBook Air, then definitely not recommended as there are no air intake / exhaust ports. I did put Speck on my MacBook Air 13" before and it heated up considerably. Not recommended unless you are in aircon environment most of the time or you really want to take care of your MacBook Air like a baby.

Skin looks nice actually, but bear in mind it doesn't covers the sides and it won't stop accidental knocking from denting your mbp.

That's what I hate about Satin covers, looks nice until you get scratches on them. And it's really easy to get scratched! Rather use my Mac naked.

Yes, definitely. When I was using a MacBook Air 13" previously, the heat had increased quite noticeably as the aluminium itself is supposed to act as a heat sink. The problem won't be that bad for MacBook Pros which have dedicated exhaust vents, though. Anyhow, the additional heat won't affect much unless you are constantly playing games or running CPU / graphics intensive applications with it.

they should be a scratch proof glossy material Apple can apply on the body that be able to dissipate heat as well. That way we dont have to spend a single cent to SPECK or any other 3rd party casing that make the MBA ugly

Currently using a Speck Satin Matte Black casing for my rMBP 15", jz because the matte black looked cool, and can be pretended to be low-profiled, LOL!

They're gorgeous, and they protect your Mac from getting scratched.  For carrying around, just get a sleeve for it.

Seriously? you can easily buy any rechargable battery then it will do. Enlope is the best so far. Unless u wan your whole thing to be APPLE product why not....
