that means 1.5 GB file transfer juz for a sec???

walaaooo wee SSD  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

but price quite scared, almost 5-7 TB normal hdisk
*
that is burst speed. not transfer speed.
for transfer speed i think around 130mb/s when i tried copying some big files to the ssd.

this ssd is mlc type. if want better write speed, go for slc drive. one drive also can achieve 170mb/s.. imagine if raid 0..
but price also double than mine and space is smaller.

I only have 80GB SSD  cry.gif
Dunno y, i cant use AHCI on my SSD..Can only install half-way on Vista.. Now using IDE mode only..
*
i also got the same thing using AHCI/RAID mode. are you using SATA optical drive? i think there is some bug in vista that wont allow you to install vista using SATA optical drive in RAID/ACHI mode. Finally, i used my old ide dvd drive and it works.

Sequential file transfer is not the biggest benefit
The biggest benefit is random read and write on small file(4k-8k) smile.gif
HDD can shy far far away when compare to good ssd in random read and write on small file icon_rolleyes.gif
If want play sequential just get 4x1TB Black and raid 0,sure sequential read/write good but random read/write on small file sweat.gif
*
actually for 4k block, random read is quite slow.. but writing speed is superbb.. installing programs with a lot of small files such as matlab is way faster than normal hdd.. 4min to complete all ..compare to normal hdd nearly 25min.

WOW, this is fast. Anyway, the CPU utilization is a little on the high side?
*
thats the bad thing about ssd actually. high cpu utilization. all my SSDs have >15% cpu utilization.
